Hi Kiddos- I had a small brainwave after recieving a message from Matt at Etsy about the Street Teams Profiles Page, and I KNOW this isn't etsy, but thought I would have better success at posting in here than anywhere else. The street team profiles pages are here- and they are starting to look really spiffy. http://team.etsy.com/profilest

So, I know the felting mods have etsy shops and a few others do.. Matt has mentioned that there isnt any reason we cannot start street teams not only based on geographical location but also under themes or the like. Like the "Dark Arts Team" that has started. http://team.etsy.com/profilest/dark.shtml
I wonder if there is interest in us getting together and setting up a page in the street teams pofiles page under Handmade Felt. It might be a great new venue to help educate and spread the word about the resurgence of this type of fibre art. While helping to promote our stores/wares and create another great selling community.
I am already in contact with Matt about another Street Team I've been working on (Canada) and while I am there, I could possibly set up another if there is anyone who is interested in signing up, signing on, taking part...... Huh

Or this could just be a flash in the pan and its silly? I dunno- I am all about the promotion of you beautiful fibre freaks.  Grin Cheesy so let me know.  Wink  Kiss

Hi Lexis,  as always from you, a good idea.  Hope you can get support and make it fly.

We ought to take the discussion to the Selling Crafts on Etsy board ahttps://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?board=231.0  for actual discussion, though, as business and promotional talk is more OK there.  Let us know if you set up a topic on that board.

Or if you prefer those interested to pm you, let us know that.

Though definately a notice here is needed to capture our eyes as some of us don't frequent the other areas much.

okay I just posted it here. https://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=119722.0

same reason i posted it here- was to really just get your attention. I dont normally venture outside the felting boards these days..

I am hoping , Grace- that you and my other lovely felty friends will help to support this if there is enough interest generated. I wont do it if there is only the 3 of us. lol.  Wink But there are options for adding links (blogs, websites, educational resources, actual definitions, felt forums, events etc!!!)  have also finished a quick write - up on "What is Felt?" to print off and educate potential customers.
As old as felting may be - most people are completely unaware of how its made and the type of loving work that goes into a felted piece.
besides, I am getting tired of answering the same question from friends. "I shrunk my sweater/blanket/rug can you 'felt' it into a bag for me?"
my response is " Sure! But aren't you the one who is a seamstress? Coz I'm not."  Cheesy

This is something that I would be interested in if I wasn't so darned busy right now.  Can people only join in the beginning- when it's set up?
