The way I'm interpreting it is that you go out and purchase yourself one of these (http://www.joann.com/catalog.jhtml?CATID=96042&PRODID=12195&source=search) and make a removable cover for it (they can be done with a zipper or with a trapdoor-ish overlapping flap) and then swap the covers. They aren't pillows to put your head on and go to sleep, they are more like largish throw pillows. 14" was probably chosen as a standard and common size.

Miss Violaceous is correct- I thought this way we could save on shipping but still end up with a decent sized result.  I was thinking it could be made of anything you craft- sew, knit, crochet, felt, pop tops, wire, etc.  I envisioned all sorts of pillow covers- all the same size but all different colors, textures, materials.
I had hoped that there would be more interest on this thread- but maybe I should just open the swap for signups and see how that goes?
Any thoughts?
Thanks!

I'm working on my first swap now, but I'll be done and ready to sign up for this one if you do plan sign-ups for late september/ early october.

Now it's looking like sign ups would be mid-end Sep and crafting during Oct.
(I can't believe it's September already!)
