Well, no real snakes, but the fabric is snake-like, if there were ever pink and purple snakes. I can't believe I named the thread this.

Ok, well, I'm going to school on September 25th and I got my new laptop a week ago (white MacBook, 2.0 gigahertz Intel Duo Core processor, 2 gig of ram, 120 gig hard drive- ah it's the best thing ever!) Since it's my baby, it needed a case of course. Sunday I got fabric and stayd up until 2 in the morning sewing it.

It's gusetted with a pocket in the back with a sprt, ski-type zipper on top. It's lined on the inside with a deepish periwinkle and between each outer fabric and the lining is two layers of batting. The pocket on the back has one layer of batting in between. The batting made the thing super impossible because I really couldn't take anything out if I sewed it wrong- the batting just totally filled in over the stitches so I just had to forge ahead. The outer fabric is a drapery/slipcover fabric because I wanted something with a bit more durability and the inside is just solid color broadcloth.

The pocket/lining fabric

My baby inside. Fits nice a snug.

Closeup of the gusset.

For the amount of problems I had making this, it actually turned out really well I think. I really like it. I'll be proud to carry it around campus in the fall.  Grin

Thanks. I was a little leery about using a print but I ended up really liking it.
