School is starting soon and I want to make a new bag to carry my books and stuff like that. Any ideas?? I like this bag. http://www.oneposter.com/bagsandbackpacks/vans/vans-society-rebel_27404.html.
Are there any tutorials or anything i can follow to make a bag like that link or to make a bag similar to this one?

let's see... it looks like, the outside pieces are basically rectangles, then the side piece is a long skinny rectangle, and there's a piece that is about the same size as the outside pieces except the top is cut off at an angle.  there is a top rim that has a bit of a triangular shape where the sides are, so that they can have a little part to fold over to hook onto the rings that hold the strap. then it has a lining, with basic square -ish pockets on the inside and then a clasp.... that's all i got. (I'm used to not having patterns, so that's all I can give you) you might just want to look around in the bag section for actual tutes.

replies are so encouraged.... it's scary.
blog (it's new so there's not much at all on it)

do you have an old one you could take apart for the pattern?
Unfortunately it will require you just sitting down and figuring it out. Having an old one around that you can keep refering to helps a lot. I do believe that most of the comercial pattern companies have backpacks in thier line now as well. YOu might start there.
