Hello all,

This is my second finished embroidery project, and one of my favorite crafted things ever! I found an image online of a drawing in Björk's Vespertine album insert, traced it using an iron-on transfer pen, and went from there.  Then I sewed a bag and added it to that, and I'm very happy to say it turned out exactly how I wanted it to!

Enough talk, here's the embroidered goodness!

The bag:

And the inside of the bag, which I'm very proud of... (there's a pocket, and using the transfer pen, I made a Bjork/feather pattern on the lining...):

I do have a question about embroidery: When you wash it, do the colors bleed? And if so, is there a way to avoid that?

Thanks for looking! :0)

Amazing bag!!

As to the color-fastness of the embroidery thread, if it was thread that was meant to be embroidered, it will probably not bleed.  I'm not sure about the fabric you used to make the bag, though.  Plus, being red, that's extra tricky!!

I would try using a couple of those color-catcher sheets when you wash the bag for the first time.  I think Spray & Wash makes them, and I've used them often when washing bright-colored fabric.  They work great!

I believe in what I see and also what I hear
But did the night play tricks on me or were you really there.

Thank you for all the nice comments that have boosted my daily dose of ego. Hehe.
You make me feel like a million dollars and a handful of sunshine. Umm. Yeah!

tracyanne- Thanks for the advice. I'll have to try those sheets once my bag gets dirty, as it inevitably will.
