Is anyone planning on going to the fiber festival near Hastings on August 18th and 19th?

Here's the web page link: http://www.michiganfiberfestival.org/links.htm

I want to go, but I don't think I'm going now because I need to save money and I can't justify spending the $$ on gas (and the yarn I know I would buy if I went). I might need to consider a bit more though since it only comes once a year.

I went on Saturday and bought only equipment and three skeins of yarn. (I don't need to buy yarn.) It was good to see so much roving and un-spun fiber there.

If you missed Michigan Fiber Festival, there is a fibery thing in Chelsea, MI on September 17th at Beach Middle School. It's the Spinner's Flock show, tons of roving, handspun yarn, equipment, etc. I like that show a lot. There is also a show in West Branch (nothern lower peninsula) on September 30th and October 1. It's called the Northern Michigan Lamb and Wool Festival. And there is something in Romeo, MI sometime in September at a farm there, but I can't remember the name.

Thanks for the info yarnhollow. Both of those shows are more convenient for me. I'll be sure to tell people at my stitch n' bitch too!

Just found this link at knitty.com that has dates and info for many fiber festivals: http://www.knitty.com/ISSUEsummer06/KSfestivalguide.html

I went to the fiber festival in 2006, and I highly recommend it!  I drove all the way across the state, and I brought my mom to her first fiber related hullabaloo!  We both had tons of fun, and my son and husband had lots of fun seeing the animals and whatnot.

Step off, I'm doin the hump.

The Fleece Fair is coming up on February 17, 2007, in Chelsea, MI at Beach Middle School. The hours are 10 a.m. - 4 p.m. I highly recommend this fiar. It's pretty cool. I wish I could go but friends are coming in from out of town.
