You could try making them candy christmas trees.

I don't know your sewing ability. But if you go to the purses, bags and wallets section, you will find that you can make purses out of jeans. You can buy jeans at a thrift shop. Or use a pair of their old ones. and then decorate it to fit their style.

Do they like to take pictures?  You could get a bunch of cheap wooden picture frames and decorate them to suit each one's personality.  If you wanted you could even put a picture in, maybe a fun one of them all together when they were little...

Embroidered stuff is fun to do and pretty inexpensive.  If you made them jean purses you could embroider or applique fun designs on them...

I have never done it before, well I tried, sort of, but you could make them salt dough Christmas ornaments.  You could make really funky ones, or try to make ones that look like them...

Sorry for the long post, but you've got me all inspired. Cheesy

Oh yeah, you could also get some beads and some bright-coloured, or silver, tiger tail and make them necklaces and bracelets.  You can even use tiger tail to make rings.  You could also make them matching dangley (sp?) earrings.

I agree with the jean purses, I am in the process of making 10 of them, just for my nieces  Undecided
some have lace on them, some with little boa's for trim, I am just having too much fun with these.
I'm also making some lip gloss/balm, bracelets and what ever else I can make CHEAP to put inside of them!!!!
I asked family members for old jeans, and used some of my 2 year old overalls and pants (they no longer fit) The Overall's turned out cute.

Now i just need a good idea for boys 4-10 years old LOL

i like kits... have you done a jewelry-making kit? this would work for lots of ages of kids. you could include, depending on budget and ages of gift-receivers:
-a block or 2 of oven-bake clay to make beads
-stretchy cord
-little glass beads or maybe plastic pony beads
-alphabet beads
-a pretty charm
-safety pins
-instructions on how to do different techniques
-dmc floss
-all in an organized case thing
so, you could pick a few things [or who knows, put other stuff in it] from that!

Smile like you mean it, and let yourself let go.

You might've already gotten these crazy girl's gifts together, but I thought I'd mention this for any other craftsters..
I have too many girls on my winter gift list.. and not so much cash. One thing I've been turning over in my brain is to make them p.j. pants. You could even select patterns/fabrics individual to that person and maybe make them a matching eye mask or stuffed sleepy toy! I know I'll be making some for myself as well...
