These are the loudest and wackiest girls in the world...all very different. There are four all together. I usually do a theme, but each thing needs to be a variation.
I"ve done the bag of knitting needles/yarn with instructions. I've knitted them hats and scarves...I'm stuck as to what to do for them this year... Huh
I can do pretty much anything I set my mind to - so bring on the ideas.

I'm trying to think of what I"ve done in the past...I did a "make your own" face/skin care kit with recipes,a mixing bowl and measuring spoons.
I did a learn-to-sew kit with a felt kitty pattern cut out and ready to stitch and embroider and stuff.
I did a lunchbox o' girl stuff with hairclips, ribbons, random bits of coolness.
Um....and there's more...but I can't remember now.

It's a hard job being a beautiful assistant...

Are they ready for pedicures? Oh my goodness, I LOVE pedicures.

You could put together a kit for them (foot scrub, foot cream, nail polish, toe separaters, etc) or you could host a girls' night where YOU give them pedicures, complete with foot massage.

Or you could just pay for them to have pedicures... around here, you can get a full spa pedicure for $25 (including tip).

A fabulous idea...and I appreciate it...however, I need to spend a teeny, tiny amount of money on each girl. Our gift budget for everyone is barely $100 (not including our children). I'm looking for stuff way on the cheap.
Way...way...waaaaaaaaaaay on the cheap.  Grin

Ok, well, you could do a cheap version of the pedicure set - how about a 'fabulous feet' set
- a bottle of nail poilsh
- a pair of toe separators (for painting toenalis)
- a pair of fru fru flip flops

You could get most of the ingredients at a dollar store  (or at a claire's type place) choose a color for each girl - so polish, flip flops, and toe separators are all blue for betty, orange for anne, and green for sue, and to save money you could even have all the eyelash yarn be white (or black)  or even multi colored that picks up all four of the theme colors on a solid colored flip flop.
Some neat new yarns out there: Bernat Frenzy Lion Brand Fancy Fur (eyelash with bobbles)Patons Cha Cha(a kind of kinky eyelash)Patons Twister (eyelash and chenille twisted together)

You can make personalized stationary for each of them with envelopes, cards, paper, postcards, address labels etc.  Each one can be a different color, have a different stamp or thier intial on them etc.  You could throw in some stickers and some pens too.  Or maybe spray them all with a different scent.  My niece got a homemade set with her name on it for her 12th birthday and she really liked it.

I have 6 teen nieces so I am always trying to think of some sort of cheap "theme" present also.

What about these hats? I'm planning on making them for my friends, all the same, but you could easily make cats, dogs, bunnies, frogs... you said you already knitted them hats, but a girl can never have too many. Smiley

Hey thanks all!

I have some really nifty satin, velveteen and silk scraps...And I thought if I kept my eyes open at the thrift store/Goodwill perhaps I could lay my hands on four nice soft wool sweaters that I could recycle into hat/scarf/mitten sets. Then, I could line them with my lov-e-ly scraps to cut down on the itch-factor and lend a little pizazz.
I can usually find 1-2 cashmere sweaters a month in the men's section. If I'm dilligent enough - maybe I can go all lush.

But any other ideas are welcome! They also have birthdays... Wink

Budget Living mag. has directions in the Aug/Sept issue to make cola tab belts.  They made theirs with  red fiber cord, but I used leather cord and I think mine look even cuter!  If you get friends to save tabs for you and buy the leather by the spool (10 yds for $6-7) you can make dirt cheap presents.  The magazine lists someone you can buy them from for $20 each, so its not a shabby gift!

How about a journal jar with a nice journal and pen?  They have printable journal jar slips here (full color with graphics):

I'm doing this for a few of my siblings.  I bought some journals at the dollar store (pretty heinous pictures on the front) and plan to decoupage some art paper or something onto the outside, then fill a glass jar with all the slips and add a fun pen.  Then you just pull a slip and use it as a beginning for the journal entry.

Good luck

Thanks for posting that website (organizedchristmas.com)!  I found some cute 'gag' things to do for girl scout swaps!
