Oh my gosh, he looks so cute in the tri-wizard shirt!  I'm so glad it fits! Smiley

We had a great time making everything!  Gareth made the origami owl (he's 8 and loves making stuff with paper) and Elena made the flying carpet (she's 11 and knits constantly!). They helped brainstorm for everything else.  Gareth also has a set of The "Dragon Eggs" and decided they were a must-have magical item!  The mystery eggs were something we found that we thought would be fun to throw in.

The Potions book started life as a small scrapbook.  I took the whole thing apart then dyed the pages and the cover with a combination of a couple of different kinds of tea and coffee.  I found lots fun, potion-y recipes and then changed them all a bit to be more magical then printed them on the newly aged "parchment."  I glued some extra bits of paper on to make it more interesting (the brown bits and the title part on the cover) then put the whole thing back together.

The tri-wizard shirt started life as 2 t-shirts.  I split both shirts down the center (a technique I first saw in Generation T) and then swapped the sleeves before sewing two halves back together.  I made stencils for the text and Hogwarts crest and handpainted on the "H".

I have more photos, including pictures of each page of the potions book in my yahoo album http://target.pg.photos.yahoo.com/ph/ofenjen/album?.dir=a8bascd&.src=ph&store=&prodid=&.done=http%3a//target.pg.photos.yahoo.com/ph/ofenjen/my_photos

ofenjen- I'm glad you have some better photos of the shirt, it came out really good.

Here's a close up of the wallet and scetch book I made-

I laminated the cards with packing tape, so you can see both sides when you open the book.

This one you can see some of the map.

zenochka, I forgot to write that the badges are for them to color themselves.

Thanks for posting the better pics. they have the badges on their capes so I doubt they will color them but I'll let them know! William is THRILLED with his stuff. Caden is wearing his hat to bed too lol! William has been crafting stuff tonight (with my help of course). Hopefully I can finish everything up tomorrow and mail on monday!

employed = hardly any time to sew :-(

I sent my email off last night to request a copy of the Maurader's Map.  Can't wait to give it a try!

beautifulloser- the close ups are awesome!  I didn't realize the HP cards were a sketch book... wicked clever!  And the duct tape wallet... I've long been intrigued by duct tape crafts, but have never tried any.  Maybe it's because I have very clear memories of everything in my childhood being held together with the stuff!  Yours came out really nice!

A crafty aside  - In a few days, I'll start working with Jose (founder of Harry Potter Crafts Y! group) over at The Leaky Cauldron updating the crafts section.  SO, if you invent a craft you'd like to submit, email it to [email protected].  There are some really nice tutorials coming out of this project.  Can't wait to see what all I'll be doing as the newest Leaky Craft Witch!  Grin

Nick recieved from Jenefor yesterday and absolutely loves everything!  He got an awesome Gryffindor scarf, a Hogwarts notebook and a potion.   Plus, her son drew pictures for him!  Thanks so much I'll take pics as soon as I can!!!

I am glad that he likes everything!...I wish I could have done more but I ran out of $ and time for crafts Sad
I am glad that it got there all safe and it is enjoyed. Hope the scarf is a "normal" length....I had to guesstimate for it being "authentic" and safe for a kid at the same time Smiley
