Wow. Thats really cool. I want to learn to double knit. That totally inspired a christmas gift idea for my best friend. I think I'll try out your pattern except make myself a chart for an apple.

For those of you who haven't tried double knitting, and were inspired to by this gorgeous scarf.  I did a double knitting scarf for a commission for someone my bf works with, and it was so easy to pick up, like doing k1, p1 rib, and if you are the sort of person who never finishes a pair of socks but always does the first, it eliminates the boring stockingette side of intarsia scarves, and makes them more fun.  Oh and I love the looks that I get from people while working on it, it's like the scarf version of dpn's Tongue. As soon as my friend orders his yarn, I am about to start on my 2nd dk scarf, charted from a picture he chose.

That looks fantastic. For some reason it reminds me of the Sanrio 'Twin Stars' characters. I love it!

I'm already halfway through my first star.  I love this pattern.

For anyone afraid of double knit, this is a great tutorial.  I'm going to try to take pictures as I go, so if anyone wants a little visual help with double knit, let me know.  It's really easy, but hard to understand how it works.

if you can't be a good example then you'll just have to be a horrible warning.
