so I made this skirt expecting it to be WAY less poofy than it actually is. I cant decide if I like it and I'm getting mixed reviews from everyone. So my question is do I leave it like this, or do I chop it off mid thigh and make a nice little mini skirt?

i like the poofyness and the fabric is awesome.

however, my only suggestion is reconsidering the length because it is currently at a rather unflattering point. if it were just a couple of inches shorter it would be more aesthetically pleasing.

I really like it it's such a nice pattern and you've done the whole bubble thing really well.

I agree with purr4kitty though that it needs to be just a bit shorter, maybe just above the knee. Because of the poofiness and length combined it looks as though you might be wearing a skirt that's too big for you. Just a bit shorter and it'll be fab. I'd suggest pinning it before you commit to any cutting though, just so you can see how short you really want to go (ahem, something I often forget to do in my rush to finish stuff off)! Good luck and make sure you post it again when you've done so we can all see!
Oh, and if you have the time could you post a tutorial please? I've been dying to make a bubble skirt but not quite sure how lol! Thankee!

personally, i detest the miniskirt, so it's always nice to see someone make a longer short skirt like you did. perhaps if you brought it up from the waist it would hit a better place on your knees, and the dropped waist wouldn't have the illusion that it was falling down. i like the poofiness of it!

The place where it is on your hips isnt flattering, it makes you look wider. Maybe you could iron it to get the poof out? I love the fabric though.

I agree with the others that you should shorten it a little, to maybe 2-3 inches or so above your knees. Mid-thigh would be too short in my opinion, the poofy part should be longer than the smooth waist part. I really like the dropped waist, and I don't think it makes your hips look too wide, but raising that seam an inch or so would work equally well.

Yup, I think you should raise the waist part...but please keep the pretty poufyness as it is! I love it Cheesy
