Oo! It's the first time that searching the old posts hasn't thrown up an answer for me.

I am covering an old box in mini-marshmallows.. but don't want to find it covered in wasps during this summer..

I therefore tried to seal the marshmallows

1) Artists varnish : Marshmallows absorbed
2) Second coat of thick, more industrial varnish: Marshmallows obviously still thirsty.. absorbed
3) PVA:Water mix: Marshmallows STILL absorbed!!!

Should I give up or just keep coating them until they become saturated and eventually seal? Has anyone else had marshmallow experience?

Thanks all (p.s. if no one replies/also wants to know the answer, i'm going to keep on with repeated coatings for the moment and i'll take photos of the "finished" thing if anyone's interested?)
