Made this from a pair of pinstripe pants that sat too low on my hips. The lace was on sale for like $1/yard...so this skirt was really only $3, not counting the pants which I bought like a year ago, so they don't count Wink

That's awesome, all of my pants-to-skirts things end up too short...how did you make this so it's longer?

Here's a crude diagram:

So basically, I cut off the legs just below where the zipper fly ended. Then, I cut up one of the seams so I could open out the legs and get nice big rectangles. From these rectangles, I cut panels for the skirt, making sure that the top of each panel was smaller than the bottom. I sewed all the panels together and then sewed them to the original top of the pants that I had left intact, zipper and all. I hope this makes sense  Undecided

This looks great! So you did keep the zipper? This might seem like a stupid question but do you wear the zipper on the front still, or the back or even the side?  Huh

I will continue to thrive, whether it's good or bad, on my angst, I will learn to use haunting memories as oxygen, until when I dare to stop thinking of them my body will feel the physical pain. I deserve it.

awa I love it! My sister just gave me some plaid (yes red plaid) pants that I might have to work on. The lace touch is adorable!! (I'm a lace addict  Roll Eyes)
