so I am using Caron simply soft in a navy blue and I am making this for my Senior Pictures (how exciting!!) b/c Mom said I had to MAKEsomething and wear it if I wanted anything crochet in my pictures. Thing is, I want to make this longer, so should I just keep on adding rows to the bottom to achieve this?! And will it turn out in Simply Soft, or should I frog it an buy cotton?! (I really am not fond of working with cotton)

Yes, just keep going (repeating the pattern) until it is the length that you want it to be.  I made my mom's about hip length.  It tells you to either end on row 4 or 8 I think.  I also made hers in the simply soft and it turned out very pretty and very soft (haha).  I say keep going with the caron!!!  She wears it out ALL the time and always gets compliments.

It looks very cute at that length.  My mom has wide hips, so I know she likes that it covers up a little bit.  I'm not sure how much longer you could go and still have it look good, but if it gets too long, you can always tear it out.  Good luck!
