Hello!  This is my first post.  I'm not much of a knitter, but I did buy a knifty knitter and loved it.  Here's what I made.  I love it, but since I live in South Florida, it'll be months before it's cold enough to wear it Smiley.  I'd love some feedback!  Thanks for looking!

I really like the skull!  You did it on a knifty knitter?  I've seen those and always wondered how they work.  Great job!

wow!! I didn't know you could do intarsia on a knifty knitter. I have made tons of hats  on my  knifty knitter but none as cool as that. I like how the zig-zag line  of the mouth ended up looking like pointy teeth. You couldn't make a straight line even if you wanted to so this really worked as a design feature!

I just used the skull pattern from this website http://www.helloyarn.com/wecallthempirates.pdf , but I only used one of the skulls instead of a bunch of them, which I then graphed out on graph paper.  I used the green loom, and two strands held together of Red Heart yarn.  I did 20 rows for the brim.  Then I did 1 more row in black before I started the skull.  I did 7 black rows after the skull. To do the skull you start at the left bottom side of the graph.  You first wrap from left to right, wrapping only the pegs that you want white, skipping the ones that should be black until you get to the last peg you're supposed to wrap white (this will be the "turning" peg).  Then wrap the pegs you want black, skipping the ones already wrapped in white.  Lift off loops.  Picking back up the white, you'll be wrapping the pegs from right to left this time.  If you have trouble understanding what I'm saying you might want to buy the Provo Craft pattern book called Knitting with Knifty Knitter II A New Experience in Knitting.  It doesn't explain how to do intarsia, but it does show how to skip pegs and how to turn around on pegs which is what you need to know to do intarsia.  It's actually really simple!  I hope this helped!  I didn't know it was possible to do intarsia on it either, I just got the idea, tried it, and it worked!

Thanks to everyone for all the nice comments! Smiley
