Thanks for all the nice comments from people.  My friend called me last night to say that the blanket was 'the lovliest, most thoughtful gift they had received'!  Awww...!

Now I just have to get round to making one for my own baby, due november!

The shoes are so cute! Do you have a pattern for them? I'm three months pregnant and have a lots of motivation to create stuff for the baby. The blankets are really nice too, I like them a lot!

The shoes are from the japanese crafting book 'for sweet baby'. ISBN407246385X. My husband brought it back from a trip to singapore as there's a huge japanese bookstore there.  If you search online, there are some free patterns for baby shoes, but not quite the same.  If I get round to it, I might scan the pages from the book and upload to my pictures here....but not today, unfortunately!!!

HTH,
Pippa

I still haven't got round to scanning in the pattern for the shoes, but I have found the book on YesAsia if that is helpful to anyone.  It also has loads of other patterns for sweet baby goods - toys, mobile, bibs, bags, blankets etc etc.
