I made this for my mom's birthday and she loves it.  She likes greens and cream colors so I used two green fabrics on the outside and a light gold one for the lining.  At the end I realized I hadn't cut enough fabric for it to close so I had to so some troubleshooting :/.  It's about 3"x3" and closes with velcro, made from some of the fabrics and threads Stephen Weaver swapped me.

here it is shut

laying open with more accurate colors.

That is gorgeous! Especially your picture with the more accurate colours.
And it is just the right size. (I get cranky when my change purse is too big.)

I really like it - good things can come from not having enough fabric. lol
You "troubleshooted" with embroidery around the edge, right?

yes, the trouble shooting was on the edge that folds over, but the trouble shooting came with sewing more fabric onto it to make the flap longer since it was too short.  The embroidery is on the edge because I had planned from the begining to put something contrasting a bit along the edge to visually balance it, although it does help cover up my mistakes  Roll Eyes.
but hey, live and learn.
