I am making some luggage tags and I bought some small eyelets but I didnt know that I needed a special tool for this. I thought 2 pieces snap together or something. Anyway I dont really want to spend money on a tool that I doubt I will use again. Is there anyting else I can use in place of an eyelet setter?

I did the EXACT same thing you did!! i thought i would be able to just snap two pieces together...i was wrong!

this is what i did:
1. punched a hole through the paper, put the eyelet in.
2. flipped the whole project over
3. found a tiny (although the size you need would probably depend on the size of the eyelet) phillips screwdriver, stuck that in the back of the eyelet, hit it lightly with a hammer to "flare" the back of the eyelet
4. pounded the back of the eyelet itself to flatten it out and hold it to the paper.

i hope that helps! i'm a bit of a scrapbook renegade and i don't buy into the fact that you need all those little pink "tools"...
