This might be a little hard for me, but I'm going to try it: http://knitty.com/ISSUEsummer06/PATTlicketysplit.html.  If they turn out, they will be a present for my sister.  She was born in the year of the rabbit, so mine (hopefully) will look like the pictures.  If I like the pattern, I hope to make some for myself (year of the monkey, woot!).

Anyway, there are many things in the pattern that I haven't done before, so I thought that if anyone else was working on these, we could collaborate!

Oh! This is perfect.

I'm going to knit my dad a pair sort of as a joke gift, because he always wears socks with his flip flops XD Also, we're really into kung fu, so I was going to make sure that I used a chinese symbol (some of them are japanese I think) Anywho.

I'm in!

Excellent!  I started mine yesterday.  I got through all the toe cap stuff and up into the MC part.  So far, so good!  I have a few wonky stitches, but I thought I'd be having more trouble, so I'm happy!  I don't have my camera for another week or so, so I can't post progress shots.  I love that you're making them for your dad!  He'll think they're really funny, I bet.

I printed this pattern out when it first came out. I have to get the yarn but I'm in.

I cast on yesterday and am up to the MC part now.

I'll be going a little slow because I'm working on another gift for my mom (my parent's birthdays are about a week apart) and a commission.

I'm sure you'll finish way before me even though you're working on two other projects.  I just finished turning the heel on the first one.  The stuff coming up looks a little confusing to me, so I might be asking you both some questions.  My heel looks a little shitty, but I'm not going to be too critical of myself on this project.  It is the first time I am doing these things:
1. knitting a sock
2. doing wrapped short rows
3. crochet cast-on
4. intarsia (eek - we'll see how it goes)
I'm having tons of fun with this pattern, though.

What yarn is everybody using?  I did a quick google search and am having a hard time finding the Kanebo Caprice...
Substitution suggestions?
Thanks!

I'm using some random sock yarn I had. The label is off.
