ah-ha! you've found me out! it's a quadropus, yes, because it is missing four arms. actually, the four arms are hiding! (i couldn't get all the arms in the chart). however, i asked my 4 year old cousin what the animal i was knitting was and he said octopus. so at least i know a 4 year old can identify it as such!

it's all done fair isle, 'cause it goes all around the hat. i don't remember how many octopi (quadropi) there are but i think there are seven that go all around.
