I have been asked to make about 30 favors for my friend's bridal shower.  It will be in September and the wedding in October.  I was thinking of doing something fallish.  Does anyone have any ideas?

what about a small ornament made of fall leaves and berries (the plastic kind)? maybe one of those mini willow wreaths around a candle votive, with berries?

other ideas:

-baby pumpkins (tied with a bow or plain?)
-two pears in a mini bag with a tag saying 'the perfect pair'
-jelly/canned fruit in a jar
-fall coloured candle wrapped with ribbon
-one of those whole dried corn cobs that you can actually pop into popcorn
-something that says that the bridal couple had 'fall-en for each other?' with fall leaves
hee hee!-
-small jars of cranberry sauce (if the wedding is near or before thanksgiving!)
-make a your own wrapping in her colours and cover mini chocolate bars
-find the local fall fruit of your area and tie a bow around it

little packets of coco or cider?
leaf shaped cookies or candy
if you do the fall color candle, maybe a nice fall scent. apple, or pumpkin pie, or a nice spice scent
cinnamon sticks tied with ribbon and nice note from the happy couple

Gaze upon the uselessness and tremble..

for my wedding shower we had vacuum pouches that had a autumn scent.  they were a big hit, amazingly.  my mom works at a vacuum shop, so she got them for a great deal.  a nice candle with an autumn scent would work nicely.  or a jar of a layered cookie mix.

what would be considered an autumn scent? Pumpkins, cider, candy?

Lots of great ideas already, a few more are;

apple butter, maple syrup (maybe even with a pancake mix), apple jelly, pear jelly

If you find some fall teacups cheap you could make teacup candles or bake cakes in a teacup

Bake bread in a terracotta pot (they have to be special treated or lined with foil. Regular pots are toxic.
- gosh I'm hungry

WalMart (I know the bane of the world, and I rarely go there....) has these small glass flower vases in the crafts dept, I think they're about 50-75 cents US. Put some daisies, or mums or other cheap cut flowers in them and attach a small card with a ribbon around the neck. (I just did this one and it was a HUGE hit)

The age and likes of the group are important to take into consideration. If it's mainly aunts and grandmas or if it's mainly 20 somethings. I mean coffee mug coasters/trivets are neat filled with scented batting so when you put your coffee or tea on it it smells up the room (in a good way) These are easy to whip up.

I guess figure out your audience and go from there.

my wedding was in october last year. we printed out our silhouettes on little squares with our names, the date, and a verse, and attached them to little sachet bags in our wedding colors (cranberry, gold, dark green) and then put cider tea bags in the bags. that was it. we for some reason didn't put a whole lot of effort or money into the favors.
