Hi there

My name's Wendy and this is my first post. I am a feltmaker from Sydney, Australia. I love all forms of felting but I particularly like nuno felting and needle felting.

Here are some photos of an Australian Eucalyptus Scarf which I made recently made for a Scarf Festival.

It is made of a merino batt with embedded gumnuts embellished with silk tops, unspun Corriedale and gumnuts with needlefelted gum blossoms.

I look forward to getting to know you all!

How pretty.

One should either be a work of art, or wear a work of art.  -Wilde

I love how organic + textured your scarf is. Fabulous!
I've not seen people include eucalypt blossoms in their felting before
Was the scarf festival a competition?

Great to see you've decided to join the board here Wendy.
You'll find it's a lot more active than the felting forum

And it's always a pleasure to have more wet felters and more Aussies  Wink

Thanks for your kind words everyone.

Jane I designed the scarf for the Melbourne Scarf Festival which was a few weekends ago. The theme was "Pod" which could either mean iPods or seed pods LOL.

I find a lot of inspiration from the natural world. My current obsession is with Eucalyptus trees and I recently sent a Eucalyputs hat off to the Alice Springs Beanie Festival.

It is great that this is such an active forum. I love seeing the photos of everyone's work and the idea of felt-alongs is fantastic.

Wow, I love your scarf  Shocked!  It's beautiful and 3D!  I'd love to learn how to do 3D wet felting.  Those little blossoms are my favorite part.

Was there a competition at the festival?
