Someone in my wife's office is getting married, and her office is having a shower for her. Somehow, I got volunteered, as I always do  Wink , to bake something for the office. Because of this being a special occasion, I got volunteered to do a special cake.

With it being World Cup time, and that the bride and groom are big soccer fans, and play soccer, my wife wanted me to make a Soccer themed cake. Its been a long while since I pulled out the tools, and am just a tad rusty on the cake decorating skills. So, here goes the end result. I hope everyone enjoys.  Grin

For the couple on top of the cake, I used some soccer decorations from Michaels. I hand sewed some Thule for the veil on the bride soccer player.  Smiley

WHOAAAAA! That is some cake!

Very elaborate and nicely done too.

Since I don't do cakes I am always awed by those who do them and well. I can see how you got volunteered. If my husband had those kind of cake making and decorating skills, he would be too.

Optimistic, Quirky, Truthful - not always in that order.

We have added a dried flower (red rose) bouquet in the bride's hand and changed her veil a bit so the tulle wasn't covering her whole head.  I took a sharpie to the head to make the hair look a bit more like an up-do. We also took some gold gimp left over from Craft Challenge 12 and kind of made a tiara but it does not show up very well.  But she looks a bit more bride like. I just wish there was some way to add boobs and keep the soccer uniform! I'm just afraid I'll mess up the little figure.

She and her husband to be are going to LOVE it and be SO surprised!

My husband would have loved a cake like this.  His "grooms" cake had a HUGE Chelsea Football Club Emblem on the side of it, and was English Rum Cake ( he's british kinda explains the football love).
