I bought this "suitcase" at a thrift store for $ 2.00 i thought it had a ton of potential and took me quite a while to figure out what to actually do with it. Let me tell you putting that fabric in there was a pain. heh heh. I also sewed batting onto the back of the red fabric so when i sewed the criss cross pattern it looks quilted. anyways hope you like it.

I am laughing my ass off at your post!!  Your "before" could be the suitcase I just took to the Goodwill!!

My parents bought it for me to go to England when I was a child!!  I have been hauling it around all my life and never knew what to do with it either!!(I should send you the little keys to see if they fit yours!! ha ha)

I like what you did and I would be curious as to what you will do with it--maybe I will be kicking myself for giving it away!! ha ha

hee hee. yeah it definitly looked like it needed some saving when i found it. It's a weird size too, it's actually not that big as i've been told it's a cosmetics case. it's about a foot by a foot-and-a-half

You came in from the darkness and held the door open wide
You stood there like a vision before my unbelieving eyes
I believe in what I see and also what I hear
But did the night play tricks on me or were you really there.

it was a tough decision whether to put the mirror and bottles back in, but i figured i'll never use it as a cosmetics case anyways
