yes, her version might be leather, but you could easily do it with vinyl. i would suggest using a sewing machine, as sewing vinyl by hand gets tiring.

this comes in silver and i have used it before - it is soft and backed with fabric and thus pretty easy to put through your machine. if it sticks to the feet, you can put a little masking tape on the bottom of your foot to make it feed easier (and i have heard of using rolling foot and walking foot but i dont know about the procedure to do that)

or, for extra sparkle, go with this silver glitter vinyl - its more expensive though.

there are tons of clutch tutorials on here, but this shape is pretty easy - you'd just sew the bottom 2/3 of a rectangle to each other up the sides, and the last 1/3 you use as a flap (maybe making that 1/3 smaller than the others (and therefore not exactly a third...). the rest i'm sure you've got - your other posts today show you are pretty good with rhinestone appication.
