is anybody working on Babette's blanket?

i've been doing this one kind of sporadically, with leftover yarns (the koigu's a bit rich for my blood).  i saw a couple of progress photos at flickr, but i thought it might be nice to find out if anybody else is working on this one.

here's my progress photo so far:

it reminds me of this kandinsky...that's why i had to make it.

How lovely!

Reminds me a lot of a rug I made back in the early 70's  Shocked (maybe 1971 or '72).  I loved the FO so much that instead of using it as a rug, I had it framed and hung it on the wall in my family room...

Fab! Looks like a bit of abstract art - maybe like Klimt or Kandinski would do  Cheesy

I am planning on starting this one probably this fall/winter.  I had my eye on Palette from Knitpicks as a sub.  Yours looks great knottygnome!  I love the little squares!

I thought exactly the same thing when I saw that blanket--Kandinsky (my fav!). I debated for a while spending the $6.99 for the magazine just for that one pattern, but then I decided that I'd better spend the money on the last skein to finish my sweater Smiley But I will do it! What are you using for yarn--I priced the Kogu, and it was really pricey--plus it's about 20 balls of yarn.

These look wonderful.  I particularly liked the way it looked made from Koigu but agree that it would work out far too expensive. All my leftovers and scraps are different thicknesses so I will probably look for a cheaper alternative.

i am using leftover yarns...everything from sock yarn to knitpicks crayon to lionbrand woolease.  from fingering to worsted weight.  i admit the different weights of yarn make the squares slightly uneven, but i figure blocking will help.
