The yarn was given to me by another craftster, awgoodkitty. This is only my 3rd or 4th crochet project ever, and my second from the book. I made it in two days. I cannot get over how much faster crochet is than knitting. There are a few more pictures on my blog. I really reccomend this one for beginners and for curvier gals. I wasn't sure how this was going to look on me, but I love it. I will be making more of these.

You absolutely rock!  I had that yarn three years and could never find anything to do with it.  That is fantastic.  YAY KATE!!!!!

Looks great on you. Smiley

I agree, for me, crochet > knitting.

Thanks everyone. This is the first think I've made in a while that I actually really like. I've recently knitted two ill fitting sweaters. Ugh...

Anyway, now that I've got this crochet thing down fairly well I'm looking forward to all the cool, cotton, summer, things I can make until it's cool enough to pull out the knitting needles and wool again.

kseiznickska- You could probably get a similar effect from maybe doing a drop stitch pattern on bigger needles. Or check out this post, her stitch pattern is also really big and lacy. Maybe you can use her pattern as a jumping off point and figure out the shaping.
Or grab the happy hooker, and a hook and have at it! Seriously, this is only about my third crochet project. the first was a lumpy, oddly shaped draw string bag a few years ago, then the skull pot holder from this book. It really is easy if I can got from lumpy bags and pot holders straight up to wearable clothing.

That came out great!

I am just finishing up on one for my neice.  I love this pattern it is soooooooooo easy and fast.

Did you have any size issues with yours?  I achieved gauge with my swatch but came out a couple of inches smaller than the diagram.

Anyway, you did a great job!

This is beautiful!! Love the yarn and the color. I just finished fat bottom and was looking for something else....I think this is it.

I love the color ! I'm working on the shrug myself but I'm kind of scared of the neck shaping...was that part hard? This is my first crochet project, so i'm wondering if I took to much of a plunge.
