i've been trying to figure out ways to incorporate more of my own art into my crafts, but then i have so much crafting stuff lying around...SO - here is a bracelet i made. it has a vinyl outside and a soft felt inside. it's very lightweight and comfy. this would work for any images, or recycled magazines, flyers, whatever.

basically, it goes like this: measure your wrist, add an inch or so for overlap (mine is 8.25"). find an image you like (or 2 or 3) that is at least the length of your wrist measurement. decide how wide you want your bracelet to be (mine is 1"). cut out the image to the dimensions you've chosen, lay right side up on a piece of felt, cover the top with a piece of clear vinyl. stitch along the edges all the way around. cut out, leaving stitching intact of course. now, add a snap (or 2 if you want it to be adjustable) to the ends and voila! a snappy cuff to wear!

That is an awesome project! I bought some iron on vinyl that can iron onto fabric...I think I will try it with this project. The stitching and cutting afterwards is a great way to get a really clean edge.

very cool!  I really like your artwork.  I also like how there's no border around it, only the pictures.

boy, I really need to get me some more snaps...

AAAaahhh! I really lost track of this thread - sorry guys!

First, thanks for all the compliments! Much appreciated.

Broadwaybabe - my sheep is #13. He was a gift from my sweetie. He's a great pal. He even sleeps with us, I guess because we don't have a Serta. lol.

thewalrusisme - yes, the vinyl is the regular kind. I haven'thad much luck ironing the iron on kind onto paper without wrinkling it. i could have laminated the image but i like the flexibility you get with the fabric vinyl.
