So here I am alone in a dorm room, and very excited about the day I will be return to my sweetie's arms, I was playing with this idea and decided to give it a try since my sweet boyfriend loves my crafty being and I know that it will give him this great laughter he has and I have been addicted to hear (and i can do anything anything to hear that)..

Here you go ladies, I give you the hottest knitted garnment ever, my own pattern with a knit lace detail on the front :

I had this very shiny acrylic yarn I bought for 0.40 cents/50 gr and it was just the right yarn to begin (even though i am not the fan of the color)..

Now if you dont mind i have to start to knit the upper parts to cover my girls...   Tongue check out page 3 for bra

TUTORIAL:

ok ladies i must say that this is my first pattern wrting so feel free to correct me or ask questions..

top:

first you need to get some yarn, choose your favorite one and one pair of needles to go with it. i used for about  100 gr but i recommend you to have some emergency yarn just in case.

you picked your yarn and needles now you need to measure your breast at the widest point, remember you work each cup individually so the measurements must be that way too.. note this number you will need it.
then get yourself a swatch, knit couple of inches and see how many stitches you have got for one inch. note this number.

take this two numbers, multiply and write it down, this is the number of stitches you have to knit enough to cover each cup.

cast on 6 stitches

row 1 RS: K2,YO,K2,YO,K2

row 2 and all WS: purl all the stitches

row 3 : K2, YO, K4,YO,K2
row 5 : K2,YO,K6,YO,K2
row 7 : K2,YO,K8,YO,K2

start to place lace pattern

ROW 9: K2, YO,K1, *YO,K2,K2TOG,SKP,K2,YO*, K1,YO,K2

you need to keep knitting untill you reach the number of stitches you've calculated before in this pattern, this way you will create a triangle piece.
once you reach the number of stitches you want, stop knitting the pattern and start to knit couple of inches garter edge to prevent curling.

knit other cup same.

ties:

pick up 3 stitches from the top of each cup and start to knit i-cord with dpns, make it enough long to tie it around your neck.

for the bottom ties there is two way to do it, either you can cast on 3 stitches and make a long i-cord and draw it through the bottom garter edges or you can choose the safest way unlike me and feel safe

so to be safe ffirst take two cups and sew up along the garter edge in te middle. then pick up 3 stitches individually each back side of garter edge to knit up i-cords to go back to tie. i assume this will make the top more stable for the girls *endowed* like me Wink

bottom:

first you will knit the front part,

i suggest you to take a pair of undşes of yours and use it as a guide for more coverage..

cast on 12 stitches

row 1 RS: K2,YO,K8,YO,K2

row 2 and all WS: purl all the stitches

row 3 : K2, YO, K10,YO,K2
row 5 : K2,YO,K12,YO,K2
row 7 : K2,YO,K14,YO,K2

start to place lace pattern

ROW 9: K2, YO,K3, *YO,K2,K2TOG,SKP,K2,YO*, K3,YO,K2

keep going in pattern untill the top edge reaches the size you wanted to be.. knit up a few inches of garter stitch.

for the back part

pick up 12 stitches from the starting point of front part and keep knitting in garter stitch untill it is enough long for the *wedgie*

start decreasing for the tanga shape to do this
k2tog each side of every row untill you got 6 stitches left and keep knitting untill desired length..

start for the top edge of the back part:

row 1 RS: K2,YO,K2,YO,K2

row 2 and all WS: purl all the stitches

row 3 : K2, YO, K4,YO,K2
row 5 : K2,YO,K6,YO,K2
row 7 : K2,YO,K8,YO,K2
row 9 : K2, YO, K10,YO,K2
row 11 : K2,YO,K12,YO,K2
row 13 : K2,YO,K14,YO,K2
row 15 : K2, YO, K16,YO,K2
row 17 : K2,YO,K18,YO,K2
row 19 : K2,YO,K20,YO,K2

start to knit a few inches of garter edge..

ties

cast on 3 stitches and make enough long i-cord.

find the middle part of front piece and draw through it and then  draw through the back part and draw through the other half of front piece this way you can tie it in the middle..

you've got it ladies!

Thank you so much for this pattern! I made the top, omitting the detailing on the cups. This was a fun and really quick knit- and I LOVE how it turned out. What do you think?!

The yarn is handspun throwsters silk in a colourway called 'Mai Tai' from here http://www.wooldancer.blogspot.com/ This colourway makes me want to drink (lots of) fruity cocktails! And the yarn has a bit of a glisten to it too- oooh shiny!! The bra is soft and comfy- I'm too timid to wear it to the beach  Wink but I'll definitely bust it out around the house when the weather warms up!

p.s. I sometimes mess up posting piccies so could someone let me know if this one doesn't show up- thanx!!!
