My favorite projects that Ive made have been things for my son. This is his Halloween costume from a few years ago when he was two.

It was a no-sew all glue project and I was really pleased with how it came out. I smile every time I see this pic of my little Prince Charming.
We had a circus themed party for him when he turned three and I was able to reuse the costume as a Ringmaster outfit for a circus poster I created for the party (and later turned into a fridge magnet).

Tell me about one of your absolute favorite projects that you ever made. Share pictures if you'd like.

My favorites change; but my two favs right now are the Piranha Plant Bouquet (More pics here) I did a few years ago and my assemblage fantasy ship. Smiley

There are so many things that Ive made that Im proud of - usually thanks to swaps because they push me to actually finish things, and to do my very best. However, I took some classes in metalsmithing last year and Im SUPER proud of the things I can make with metal and a saw.

I made both of these rings - although I could use a refresher course in stone setting.

Im pretty handy with a jewelers saw, though.

As far as getting to know my partner, I feel like I have been a bit neglectful. Weve messaged back and forth a few times, but we are both busy moms. It feels like life gets in the way a lot. But, Im having so much fun crafting for Kartiana, and we are now friends on Facebook. Plus, she lives in a city not far from me, that I visit a few times a month, and we have a lot in common. So, I feel like our friendship wont end with this swap, and that we have the potential to meet in person someday!  Smiley

Details of swap:
-You will be sending two packages. You may choose to have 1 or two partners.

-Package one will include a thoughtful letter to your partner, a small crafted item that is something you love to make, and a small purchased extra that represents something in your life that you love. The purchased extra does not have to represent your crafty life. This package is about you, which means that you can start working on it as soon as you sign up and mail as soon as you have a partner!

-Package two will be sent after you read your partners letter.  You will take what you learn from that to craft a medium item you think your partner will love, or will be special to your partner based on your letter, and hopefully the pm communications you havewe are making a new friend, after all! You will also include 2 small items that you think your partner will love. These items can be crafted or purchased.

I've been doing some thinking about our international swappers and the cost of shipping.

For international swappers only, I am going to edit package sending requirements as follows:

Package 1: You may choose to only send your letter to your partner as package one. However, your craft must be completed, your small must be purchased, and you must share a picture in the Gallery by the send out date for package 1 of these two items for your partner to see. Please let your partner and myself know if you are only sending your letter for package 1, and if that goes missing, you will be required to resend your letter.

Package 2: This will include original requirements of package 2, plus you will send the craft and small from package 1 as well.

Your letter should include things such as: what is your favorite thing about swapping, your favorite things in swap partners, how did you pick your username, what has been your favorite swap, what has been your favorite vacation, what is a funny memory you have, etc.. The more you chat with your partner in pms and the more you include in your letter, the better your partner will be able to craft something for you. There is not a length requirement for your letter, but please put thought into it.

I know this will be great, and have no doubt this wont be an issue.but.in order to fulfill the swap requirements, BOTH packages must be sent on time. To make sure we are all active, I will ask that everyone post at least 1 time every two weeks. I'll try to ask some good questions throughout the swap to keep us all active and excited!

If you want to participate, information to send to organizer: BigBangMomma

I know I  have a post about this fellow somewhere on here...I think. I am drawing a blank on the name of this sheep...Valais something or other. I crocheted him several years ago  then paunstakingly tied on individual hairs. It took forever! But, he is so cute!

Tell me about one of your absolute favorite projects that you ever made. Share pictures if you'd like.

That's a tough one and will probably change with my mood! But right now as my baby gets bigger I'm reminiscing about the pirate-themed quiet book I made for my niece and nephew when they were much younger. Specifically the finger puppets in the treasure hunting pages that became their favorites:

(And of course looking at photos makes me realize I'd do about 90% of things differently now!  Cheesy)

Not sure if this is my favorite thing I made but it was very painstaking and I was glad when it was done. LOL!

Wow, fell a little behind on the thread, so have just caught up on several pages and have some questions to catch up on. Last few weeks have been crazy, my Dad came to visit (he lives in France), so spent some time with him, work is ridiculous at the moment and I have just taken over a Brownie group, so all the planning, admin, etc. is all on me now! But have been crafting away in between times, not just a huge amount of time to sit at the PC and catch up.  Grin

What does your garden grow?

My gardening is very vegetable related, with only a few pretty plants tucked in. Currently in the ground are potatoes, sweetcorn, peas, onions (white and red), leeks, green beans, courgettes (long in yellow and green and round in green only), carrots, beetroot, lots of strawberries, rhubarb, curly kale, tomatoes and this year we have added a cherry and a plum tree. We do have some hanging baskets with just flowers and the arch into the garden has honeysuckle and lavender on each side. There are a few sunflowers tucked in beds and sweet peas with the beans on an arch.

How is crafting going for package 2?

Almost there, one project finished and everything else is about 80% done.

Tell me about one of your absolute favorite projects that you ever made. Share pictures if you'd like.

This chakra hoopla is probably one of my favourites. I love anything rainbow or chakra!

How are you doing getting to know your partner?

I think we probably could have tried a little harder, but it has been lovely getting to know her.

What is your favorite Disney movie (cartoon)?

Any of them/all of them, love Moana and Zootopia from the recent releases. Although my favourite of all time is The Fox and the Hound - especially this little bit -

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BWrjGiW77J8 (Just past the 35 second mark!!  Cheesy)

Favorite movies: Cloud Atlas

I love this film so much and I loved the book as well, I have reread it several times. I actually loved how they adapted the book into the film!

Oh my gosh, your fave things you've made are all incredible! I don't think I could choose just one but I was pretty impressed with this piano hinge scrappy fiber book that combines a few projects and so many of my fave little bitty pieces.

Favourite movie, I have to say Idiocracy though my enjoyment of it fades in direct proportion to how increasingly true to life it becomes over the years Tongue.

Let's share some of our favorite "life hacks."

One of my favorites is that since my cabinets don't have pull out shelves, and they can get stuffed full and hard to find things, I fill small baskets thst fit on the shelves. This way, I take the badket out, find what I need, and put it all back....easy peasy!

I have tons of these...medicine, spices, small Tupperware, oven mitts. It's great.

This'll probably be sideways, but look:

Today's question: Look back at your profile. How many swaps have you completed and what was your VERY FIRST SWAP ever? You may not remember what you sent, but by looking at the swap name, do you think you'd do that type of swap again?

I have completed 104 swaps (not counting the 5 I have going right now.) My very first swap was a One Tiny Thing Hunger Games Swap. I just looked, and I sent this Water Bottle Carrier which is actually much bigger than an a OTT (unless you count squished down, ha!)  I haven't watched Hunger Games in a long time, but it's pretty timeless, so I might consider doing one again if it came up.

Although...right now, A Handmaid's Tale themed swap might be appropriate.....
