Baby Boy's hair is totally doing its thing. I built his costume around the hair -- it seemed like the perfect costume for him. my inspiration was elvis's blue rainfall jumpsuit.

I took a small jumpsuit and drafted and added a collar:

the belt is just a piece of elastic which I enclosed in a tube of knit--i added snaps in the back so he could wear it comfortably and we could take it off quickly. I fused on some shiny fabric and then made the buckle using stiff interfacing and white knit. I experimented with felt first, but i was not keen on it so i went with the knit instead.
Then I added the bling:
I used shiny puffy paint.
then i made the bell bottoms

i added a cape and sewed it to the arms

because he is drooooooling like craaaaaaazy, i made a long neckerchief and tucked it into the suit so it would look like the scarf elvis would sometimes wear.

and of course, there's his microphone Cheesy
I knit it with cotton so it was washable and could be chewed on. He did not disappoint. I used a pacifier clip to attach it to his outfit.
