ps I have an idea for a christmas stocking for you that I hope you will love. Need to clear my craft space so I can get cracking.

Ooo exciting! I'm going to spend this weekend planning - and trying to get my craft space together. We just moved, so this is what it currently looks like:

Much unpacking and organizing to be done!

We will each make/decorate a 12-16" tall stocking (cuff to heel) and fill it with goodies.  We will make/decorate and fill with our partner's tastes in mind.  Each stocking will have at least 50% crafted goodies, the remainder may be purchased supplies or items.  Everyone must post in the swap thread when they sign up as a swapper, and there will be weekly checkins every week in the thread!  It's a very long crafting period and we would hate to lose anyone along the way.  You may choose one of three sizes to do in this swap and you will be paired accordingly.  Sometimes there will be an odd number, so please note if you are willing to do (for example) Small or Medium or maybe Medium or Large or work with a 3-way swap.
Small - concentrate on a fab stocking and fill with at least 3 crafted and 3 purchased items
Medium - do a great stocking and fill with at least 7 crafted and 5 purchased items
Large - aka Spoiler!  A great stocking and no end of goodies!!

NOTE:  This is a holiday based swap so please do not send late - there are times when life interferes with crafting and we all understand that, however, a temporary negative will be given to anyone who sends more than two weeks past the sendout date, according to Craftster rules.  If you send late at all, it will be noted in your feedback.  Communication issues will also be noted.  We like to run a very nice, fun and timely swap.

Happy Halloween!!

Didn't manage to get the new costumes done for Halloween, so the girls were wearing their Superhero costumes from the Edinburgh Comic Con (April 2016).

(they were out "guising" (that's the Scottish Trick or Treating where they have to tell a joke, sing a song or do a dance before they get their treat) with one of their school friends, sporting a Day of the Dead dress).

New costumes are to be ready for the ECC April 2017 (that's one Rey costume and one Leia costume).

We have a fake tree. We've only been married for six years so our decorating is still pretty minimal. But with a 6 year old (yes, if you do the math we created our daughter the day we got engaged... now that's a story) and a 2.5 year old we don't have much at the bottom! A family tradition is to go to Pier1 the day after Christmas and buy their expensive ornaments at half off! So we are slowly filling our tree with nicer ornaments instead of my family's castoff ornaments they gave us!

I would love a tree that looks like it came out of a catalog but I'm realistic. I love our ornaments of our favorite things!

On a side note I sliced my finger taking the apple core from daughter's snack from the apple corer I have.... needless to say the stitches and finger splint might be putting a temporary damper on some of my Crafting..... The splint mightjust have to come off to see... thank goodness I'm a lefty so I can still write just fine!

Yikes!  Sorry to hear that happened.  Hoping it heals quickly and completely.

Mmmmh... not that versed in Stocking Stuffers yet as we didn't do that in Germany. However, I had a homemade Advent calendar (my mum did it in her makrame class wayyyy back) which I'm now using for my twins.

I always loved getting smurf figurines etc. Smiley

The pic below shows the makrame tree with part of this year's packages (they're effectively the same things as you'd use for stocking fillers).

I've received Homerof2's stocking today!! Cheesy

Will keep it until Christmas Day as I don't think I'll get any stocking from my family this year.
