It's here, it's here (she's here?  he's here?)!!  I suppose we'll deem her a 'she' for the time being, since s/he arrived wearing a necklace... But I feel that s/he may be a bit like Eddie Izzard and dress in whatever way suits their mood!    Cheesy Cheesy

Allow me to present Faustine (or Festus, when s/he's in boy mode)

Here's a nice profile view

S/he'd come loose from the mount, so maybe the mount goes like this?

I have a solution in mind for that (based on my own challenges with doing the same thing!), so I should have it fixed up and ready to show off in no time   Smiley

Thank you so much, artsycandice, I love her!

After an ordeal with the USPS my partner stitch and stones has finally received her package.  She hasn't posted yet though, so I assume that shes busy with real life.  So, I'll go ahead and post pictures of what I sent.  She said she lives in a small apartment so preferred small items so, I made her a little taxidermy deer butt and a unicorn head taxidermy.  I had so much fun making them that eventually I have decided that I need to make a pair for me as well.

Oh I love the little bear head and especially the narwhal rug - how unique!   Cheesy

I'm quite tickled by the pieces I received from missmuffcake.

Here is "Tangled" a wolpertinger who was running through a forest of craft supplies and got stuck:

Here is "After the Battle" a beetle who won the fight:

Thank you, missmuffcake!  The wolpertinger is the first of what I hope will become a collection of wolpertingers.   Smiley

Oh my goodness that narwhal is too precious!

The wolpertinger is great! And so fitting, given the crowd!  Wink I love it.

I! Had the pleasure today of receiving from the inimitably wonderful emilywilde! She said in her note that this was a difficult swap for her, but I think she hit it out of the park.

She calls this first lovely thing the nightmare moth. It has a bristle of teeth for a head and an eyeball on its tail (I LOVE teeth and eyeballs). The cocoon dangling over the top of the frame is purposefully reminiscent of a fang or tusk AND it glows in the dark (yes, I dashed immediately into the bathroom to perform Science, and it does indeed -- the moth's teeth also glow, which delights me to no end).

She chose to do a moth based on a story her mom told her. She lived in Guam for a while and the locals told them about a moth that could kill just by touch, and Emily thought about how that kind of fear could warp a person's perspective.

The second item just tickles me to no end. I mentioned liking things that are creepy/cute, and she made this adorable soft monster with a snaggletooth mouth for a face that wears a precious clay mask (which also glows!) based loosely on plague doctor masks.

Thank you so much, Emily! The thought and care you put into every aspect of this swap is immediately evident, and I adore everything you sent me.

Whoa that moth is cool!  What are his wings made of?  They look kind of iridescent, like shells almost (or, I guess, like wings, haha!).  I LOVE the little fuzzy monster and his mask!!  <3
Thanks! The wings are actually owl eyes I found a while back in an art magazine, mod podged to a bit of felt. Originally I had planned to do something with clay and chicken feathers, but what could beat those eyes?

I also received a great package from kaitibeeps today!
This guy is super cute, and I squeed a bit as I pulled him from the box... Cheesy

The picture doesn't do this justice, they're butterflies on cute paper, with rhinestones and bottlecap eyes. Unfortunately I need to do a little recon, the biggest eye fell off...

Thanks Kaiti! My BF is on his way home and I can't wait to show them off!

The awesomeness has been opened. Behold... Sheldon the Shoe-bill stork! He is so wonderful. I LOVE the teeny ribbon tie. It didn't even occur to me to decorate the plaque. I want to do this swap again next year and start gathering a whole collection of faux taxidermy for my wall. I love him so much. Thank you cabaute!!

The organizer begged for a pic.  Tongue  I took one on my phone last night after I tore open the box. I will get a better set of pics this weekend - when the sun is not behind clouds & I have more than 1 minute to do something for myself.

Ludi captured my love for cats & dead head moths in one gorgeous piece! With the velvet & the gold tones - very Versace! I love it and will get great pics as soon as things settle here. Thank you so much!

I received my taxidermy from Crazyda79. The bear is a toy head mounted on a board with a magnet or hang string option. Unfortunately the fish is having some separation issues with its fins and the support toothpicks migrated out. I like that she made the breed of fish personalized (I covered my name in photoshop.)
