The second package from across the pond also nailed my themes in an entirely different way...cool!...and LeapFeetFirst, totally spoiled me.. Smiley

first was some extras,

Washi tape!! imagine I have reached 46 years of age and never before owned washi tape...I do now and will enjoy it. I love these little ceramic hearts and the mushroom ribbon is so cool. (I am also doing a lot of book binding these days and I am making a journal for a friend, which will be a log of her house renovation, she loves grey, so i am going to use one of those heart tags at the end of the book mark for that)

anyway the main event...another few loves of mine, Alice in wonderland, and anatomical hearts...

I love this...this is a close up of the image ( really have to get myself into some screen printing)

and the hearts,

and so some of my themes were 50s and hearts. I love this as it is a combination of both, the kind of atomic design from the 50s with hearts instead of balls...

And my favourite, I love this one, both the print and the background fabric.

Amazing, right!? I think I am just going to put some of these in a hoop and hang them on my wall- they are perfect just the way they are.

Thank you so much edelC!!

And here's the gorgeous fabric I got from goatgoddess. I hope my sewing machine gets fixed soon and I can sew a bag out if, because it's just perfect!

(the colours are a bit off, they are prettier in real life, I had to use my phone because all of my electronics are not cooperating and the camera doesn't want to work...)

I have had a very busy weekend, lots of visitors, which is nice but I am itching to get into my craft room and start doing more printing, this swap always inspires me. Plus my two micro cutters arrived so I will be able to do the detail work that has frustrated me...the thing that really made my weekend was that two packages from my partners arrived...and they are wonderful.

the first one I opened was from p.kok..my themes included tattoo, hearts, 50s...and she definitely nailed my theme.

this is close up showing the prints, one cleverly heart tattoo...the other a 50s inspired print. ..

thanks p.kok..

photo upload is being a bit arsey today...so I am going to post this and create a separate one for my second package.

I received a ridiculously awesome set of prints from Sarcastra today!! She said that I lobbed her some softballs with my theme suggestions of aliens, crop circles, and eyes, and I am so happy for it. The printing is so crisp and clean, I am super impressed.

I've decided that I'm going to start a collection of hand printed fabrics and when I have enough, I'm going to make an art quilt with them. Anyone else want to join in?  Cheesy

Thank you so much Sarcastra! Those prints are awesome!!

I received from sheepBlue yesterday!

She did a tasteful blending of a couple of my themes for each one.

An undertakers and embalmers print ad in charcoal on a dappled goldenrod color.
But wait, there's more!

Yes! Violet bird skulls and flame flies on a shale fabric with citrine dots.

They look AMAZING! I couldn't have made up such a perfect combination of all my favorites.

But, I have one bone to pick with you! In your questionnaire, you called your skill level "intermediate" and that is a lie! These fabrics are perfect. They could be store bought from a fine LQS with factory QA stamped on them! As evidence of this, here's a thing that happened last night. I'd been at a quilting shop hop during the day and when I got home, I laid out my purchased fabric on one of my workshop tables. When I checked my mailbox, I had the package of FQs - I unwrapped them and laid them out beside the purchases and got out my camera. My husband wandered in to the workshop and looked at all the fabrics together - I was quietly watching to catch his reaction. He reached out his hand and ran it over the sheepBlue FQs then said, "wow, I didn't think the quilt shops would have fabric like this." Then I explained that they were the hand printed ones and he was impressed with the skill.
Seriously, you have the skill. You are no "intermediate", I think.

Thank you so very much, sheepBlue. I've already begun pulling other fabrics from the stash and planning some more prints to add to these for some projects, so far a quilt and a bag. They are both stellar and I love them!

Here are my prints I received from goatgoddess!! First, a beautiful sun dye with leaves:

And this green one done with a gelli plate:

I love them both, but the gelli plate one is my favorite. I don't know anything about a gelli plate, but I had assumed it was for paper. Now that I see the amazing results with fabric, I'll have to look into this technique!

Thanks so much, goatgoddess!!!

Aww, I'm so flattered by your beautiful words. We're all our own worst critics, and I am certainly not an exception.  Smiley I had so much fun thinking up what to do for you, and love that we had so much in common. No doubt I'll be printing more FQs and whatnot for myself using these same prints.

Here's a close-up of the text so it's easier to read..

this was a great swap, when is the next one??

So I did a bit of fast sewing today, I used some of leapfeetfirst's fabric and made this tea cosy. I didn't want to cut into the fabric too much, so I left it mostly square. It has it's own thread here... https://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=433640.0#axzz32YjREJrX
