I am oh-so-late on posting this- life of a children's librarian during the Summer Reading program is *insanity*. Anyhoo, I'm going to include pics of what I received from my partner, Lmseeley, as well as what I crafted for her.

Unfortunately, Lmseeley's post office marked the package I sent her as 'un-deliverable', and as of now, I am still waiting for it to arrive back at my place so I re-send it.   Cry Lindsay, I'll send you an email once I receive and send it back out.

Lmseeley sent me four small but great pieces of handcrafted Miyazaki goodness: two soot sprites that seem to be weaved somehow (so cool) and two tiny paintings inspired by Princess Mononoke, one of my favorite Miyazaki films.

How cool, right?! And the paintings are so simple but beautiful, which I love. Thanks again, Lindsey! The sprites have already made a home for themselves on my bookshelf and I'm still trying to decide where I want to hang the paintings because I want to see them all the time Cheesy All that being said, Lindsey: do NOT read past this point!! I don't want to spoil your package for you.  Wink

....

....

....

....

Despite being insanely busy with work, I managed to make Lindsay quite a few little pieces which I hope she likes. To give you a size reference, I took some pictures with the pieces on my strangely tan-looking hands.  Huh Anyhoo, onto the pics!

Piece 1: a mini Totoro outdoorsy scene made with Sculptey clay & glazed.

The obligatory Totoro-back picture.  Wink

Piece 2: a pair of Culcifer earrings; Sculptey with a glaze.

Piece 3: a soot-sprites-in-a-bottle necklace. I bought about 4 packs of star beads- none of which fit!- before thinking: "hey, sprinkles are cute! Soot sprites would totally eat sprinkles." And thus, the soot-sprite-sprinkle (say that three times fast) necklace was born! The sprites were made out of the tiniest black pom poms I could find, which I then cut down not only to fit into the bottle, but to give them a not-totally-perfect appearance. The teensy-weensy eyes were just painted on.

Also, keep in mind that even though the sprinkles look big, they're totally 'standard size' sprinkles- making this a *tiny* necklace.

Piece 4: this is the only piece I did not end up being pleased with, but I sent it to Lindsay anyway (with an explanatory note) because I figured she might like it anyway. I wanted to sculpt a Cat Bus and it ended up looking like a demented Disney character, at least in my hyper-critical opinion. Le sigh. Sculptey clay once again with glossy acrylic paint and a gloss top coat.

Pieces 5- A Lot: I went a little crazy making a bunch of Miyazaki magnets. I found the images on Pinterest, played with the contrast before printing, ran them through a laminator, and then just added magnet strips to the backs.

Here is everything together- I also made a bookmark out of an adorable Hayao image, adding corresponding purple ribbon on top (bottom right).

I wrapped everything up in some fun hippie-esque fabric I had left over from a project to add some protection, bubble-wrapped everything, and I just had to throw in some authentic Japanese stationary and stickers I had lying around. I rarely have such an appropriate use for them!  Cheesy

Hope you enjoyed! Can't wait to see what everyone else has been crafting and receiving.

The thoughtfulness/awesomeness that went into this package makes me so very happy!

Without further ado...

First off my Favorite...
A Ponyo Hoop!

I hope my camera is doing Ponyo's hair justice. I couldn't take my eyes off it for the longest time!!!

A Totoro Hat complete with Soot Sprite ties!

The kids are setting up a "split custody" for this little guy!

No Face Blank Journal!

This is beyond cool, and based off an image from my pinterest! I'll love this moleskine as I've never loved a moleskine before!

Ponyo Pin Buttons!

I know just where these are going too...Some are going on my minivan's sun visor, some on my rockin' denim jacket, and some on my pin button collection frame!

And now for the extras....

I love Lego!
She crafted some Flat Brick Bobby Pins! then included some Lego bulletin board push pins!
AND OMG some shells! The kids went ballistic! There was actually a teeny bit of sand in the box too! Being in the Midwest, we don't often make it to the ocean.

I LOVED this package to PIECES!!!
Thanks and Thanks and a Million More Thank Yous Ms. Daphadilly!!!!

I picked it up from the post office this morning, and the package I received is the best thing ever. It's sooo cool. Take a gander below.

Wallet/Phone Case

An Amazing Set of Hoops

This great reversible bag, Kodama's on one side, and two Spirited Away images on the other side, it's amazing.

There was also awesome Australian chocolate, but it didn't survive long enough to get a picture of it.

All of my photos are upside down for some reason, even after trying to fix it, hopefully you can all still see how awesome everything is.

Some Kiki's Delivery Service buttons which I have already decorated my purse with Cheesy

Turnip Head embroidery! She really captured his personality, I can't help but smile when I look at it!

Calcifer plush! The cuteness overwhelms...

A Totoro pencil case with a little felt Totoro sewn on! He's too perfect.

Ok so I was partnered with SmileyYogini aka the spoiler. I almost feel ashamed of the package I sent her after opening this. First a group shot to show you just how MUCH she fit in this box.

Now to separate stuff a bit. First the Miyazaki stuff. Here we have the most looked forward part of any swap for me... The plusheis! lol. Here is Haku (dragon form) and Howl. Two of my top favorites Smiley

Then we have a cute felt Catbus envelope :3 and a keychain of howls moving castle.

Now the extras. There's a set of WONDERFUL smelling Vampire Blood incense, an art junkie (so true) magnet, some rit dye (we were chatting about orange dyes), skittle (yum), ATC blanks, a mini wooden easel, a wooden O, and an adorable Hat for my niece Smiley Ok I THINK that's everything lol.

So, who's jealous? Wink Thanks Smiley.

I feel like a jerk because I just realized that I never posted pictures of the awesome package that Rae-mazing sent me. My life is a bit of a big crazy mess right now.

Calcifer hoop! I love him.

And an absolutely adorable painted Totoro bag. I've been needing a new makeup bag (my old one is too small) and this is perfect. Sorry, the picture is blurry and really doesn't do it justice.

Super cute mushroom lining.

Thank you so much Rae-mazing!!!
