This is the amazing package i received:
2 books - Ive already started getting hooked into one.  The other was a bonus copy of the yaya sisterhood, which was also on my list, that Kylie picked up - she says that never happens to her - so lucky me!!  I received a black chain with sewing notions hanging off it - inspired no doubt by one of my novels! (thanks Kylie!) Wink The bookmark is gorgeous with a quote from the book "I was carried away, swept along by a might stream of words pouring from the hundreds of pages.  To me it was the ultimate book; once you read it, neither your own life nor the world you lived in would ever look the same."  What a great quote! The Chinese symbol apparently means "read".  Kylie you mentioned a second bookmark about a Chinese proverb about books? Im so sorry I couldnt find it in the package Sad  So sorry.

She also made my a mini travel sewing kit again with great pockets and cute little scissors that came with it!

Kylie also included some poppy seed soap - yum!  and tea (tea and books!!  great combo!!) we should include tea with books for the next book swap Wink ;)wink wink

And Kylie how did you know about my love of peanuts in choc?? yum!  cant wait to get into that !!  ( using all my willpower cos i gotta fit in this dress for a wedding in 2 weeks - pat on the back for me - i still havent opened it up!!) Wink

And all this came in a wonderfully made bag ( which i will be using for crocheting projects!!)  inspired by the book - with Chinese material.  The great thing is there are lots of pockets and zips to hold all the stuff like scissors and the fantastic sewing kits I was sent also!!  Its amazing how you sewed all the pieces together in this bag!  ( i would have been so confused!!)

Thank you so much KYLIE! I love it all and feel so spoilt!  Thanks also to Leslie and Susan for such a great swap!!
(sorry about the gigantic post!)

Hey guys, I received from Lindyv321 yesterday!  Grin

She sent me The Long Walk by Stephen King (under the pen name Richard Bachman). The summary states: "On the first day of May, 100 teenage boys meet for a race known as 'The Long Walk.' If you break the rules, you get three warnings. If you exceed your limit, what happens is absolutely terrifying..." Kind of like an early Hunger Games, but less about manufacturing conflicts between characters as far as the game makers are concerned. I am very excited to read it.

I am a Hufflepuff, so she sent me this awesome shirt =)

She also made me a "Reading is sexy" hoopla =)

And a Hufflepuff themed bookmark!

Thank you again for everything Lindy!

I agree - that raven is incredible!! Gotta love some Poe inspire embroidery  Cheesy

Now I got some beautiful crafts of my own from the wonderful Ninaprettyballerina!

I was so excited to get the package so quickly - we are even in the same state  Shocked

First - here is the awesomeness that greeted me when I opened the box

The postcards Nina wrote me a note on are gorgeous in themselves and some sweet extras!

Oh My Goodness - Jeffrey Eugenides. I fell in love reading Middlesex and put 2 of his novels on my list. The Marriage Plot is his latest I think and I already started reading last night. I'm loving it!

Look at this loveliness - a handmade journal. It is put together so perfectly and I love the material and design on the inner sleeves. And as a sneaky little surprise there are authors names drawn on random pages throughout  Grin I included some of my favourites in the picture. Nina suggested it could be used to write notes and thoughts about things I read but I always have difficulties using handmade journals - they just seem too perfect to write in. I think I may use it as a basis for a bit of junk journalling.

I had pinned these pen-holder bookmarks and was secretly hoping for one - but got 2!! One is inspired by the 3 main characters in the Marriage plot and the second is reflecting one of my favourite colours -blue

There were these beautiful extras as well - bracelets in my favourite colours. I will be selecting an outfit tomorrow so I can wear one (or both - there are no rules!!)

Thank-you so much Nina - if you have better photos of anything please post them  Cheesy I love everything you made for me - and hope you love what I made for you half as much. I hope yours get's there soon!!

I get to post pictures first? This doesn't feel right to me... I'm always a last minute sort of person no matter how hard I try. Enough about me, on to the loveliness from StickerChic87!

Here's everything all together. She really matched my color loves well! I received not one, but 2 books off my list. I have read and reread pride and prejudice over and over but never had a copy of sense and sensibility or Northanger Abbey.

Perfect little embroidered bookmark

Fabric covered journal with one of my favorite inspirational quotes from my pinterest

The best and most amazing bag! I love the fabrics and colors and it is sturdy enough to handle library books!

Thank you Beth!!!

Well, my package to when_i'm_sixty4 shows on tracking that it arrived on Tuesday, but I have yet to hear from her whether she received or not.  I do know that she had a computer keyboard snafu, which may be preventing her from updating, so I am going to post pictures of what I sent, but I will be poised to re-craft if we had yet another USPS casualty.  :/

I chose Emma by Jane Austen as her book.  I also found this awesome "choose your adventure" style book called Lost in Austen, so included that as well.  The made bookmark is crocheted and loops through the book and holds a pen or highlighter for annotating as you go, and I happened to stumble across the awesome Jane Austen bookmark in my junk drawer, so included that, as well.  It's leather.

Up-close image of the bookmark.  I used an Owl button, as we both share a love of owls, so I felt I had to work one in there somehow!

Then, the Emma-inspired craft:

when_i'm_sixty4 works in a library, and I know that they are often overly air-conditioned, so I made these sweet Victorian-ish fingerless gloves that I thought looked like something Emma would wear.

Finally, the reading-inspired craft:

Like I said, she works in a library, but in the Children's section (best job ever, by the way!), so I made her this "book bag" with some awesome Dr. Seuss fabric I stumbled across in my stash, and included the fun Matryoshka silverware, as I thought she could use the bag to bring her lunch to work, and she loves nesting dolls.

I hope the package really did arrive, and that when_i'm_sixty4 is just having life happen right now, so she's delayed in posting.  Otherwise, I have enough yarn for another pair of gloves and bookmark and some more Seussy fabric for another bag.   Wink

Well I received on Friday but haven't had a chance to post my wonderful package until just now.

Fancybutch sent me a copy of 1984 by Orwell, a book that I've been wanting to read for a long time but have just never gotten around to.  I'm super excited about it!

The bookmark and the item that she sent along with the book are both themed around the book itself which I love.

First the bookmark which includes one of her favourite quotes.

Front:

Back:

and finally she sent along this sweet blackwork hoop.  She's told me that the image of "Room 101" is something very significant to the book and I'm very interested to find out more about it.

Now that I've received I just want to say thanks to the organizers because I think you've paired us up pretty well!

Thanks again fancybutch!!!

Noodle_bug has received this package that I sent her, but has been unable to post pictures.

I started to read Northanger Abbey a couple of years ago, but didn't get very far before I stopped...I found all the different characters a bit confusing.  When I saw it on her list I thought it would be a good time to give it another try, and when I found the book in graphic novel form I knew I had to get it too! I really enjoyed the graphic novel, because not only was it a condensed version of the book, but seeing the drawings of the different characters helped me keep track of everyone.

The crafted items are based on things on noodle_bug's Pinterest.  I bought a used book of Shakespeare for $1 and turned it into a sewing box, using balsa wood and scrapbook paper.  I've never done anything like this before (I'm usually a fabric kind of girl) and I am very happy with how it turned out! The outside of the cover is untouched, so if it was on a bookshelf it would still look like a book (and since she lives in London, the name "Shakespeare" on the spine is perfect!).

Below you can see the front and back of the bookmark.  It too was made from a $1 book that was in such bad shape I didn't mind cutting it up to use the spine for a bookmark.

So many great things in this gallery...!  And now I am going to add more.

I was such a jerk and picked all new books for rachel.in.rainbows but she accepted it and ran with it...so hats off to her!

I LOVE LOVE LOVE Pride & Prejudice, but obviously have it.  I love reading allsorts of other takes on the book and on my list was a book written from Darcy's perspective.  I am so happy she picked that one...that meant I got an Austen inspired package!

First up the Book!

I'm sure it will be smutty and awesome.

Look at this awesome stiched bookmark, with a quote that sums up this swap perfectly!

And the pressie was a notebook cover with extra notebook.  WOW I love this so much!  What is funny is I almost went this route for her but at the last minute changed my mind...

Look at the fine detail

Thank you so much RiR!  LOOOOOOVE LOVE LOVE IT!!!

I can't wait for the next swap!!! Grin

I received a fantastic package from Averia today! I am so excited about it!

First, the books. Oryx and Crake by Margaret Atwood, and Angela's Ashes by Frank McCourt. This swap really was perfect timing for me-I didnt know when I signed up that I would be taking a work trip to Las Vegas in a few weeks, and these books will be great to take with me. Im forcing myself to save them for it haha!

Next is the bookmark. A quote from Mr. Darcy! I was secretly hoping for some sort of Austen incorporated into my package, and also for a bit of Averia's fantastic needlework- and I got both in one! Cheesy

Check out this mini book necklace! I love the leather cover and the brown beaded chain!

And finally, this amazing bookbag! I love the style, the PURPLE, and the print on the flap. It is very well made and I cant wait to use it.

I wish I had better pics, but by the time I got home from work and opened my package, daylight was fastly fading.

Averia- Again, thank you so much! I love everything and had a great time swapping with you! I cant wait to use all my goodies. Smiley

I got my package today.  Prepare yourself for more Douglas Adams goodies!!  We both sent each other Hitchhiker's Guide to the Universe books.  I'm so glad to finally add this to my book collection so I can pick it up to read whenever the whim strikes me.
Here's a group shot of everything:

A fabulous 'paranoid android' hoop - her first felt-worked one!  I love it!

wonderful cross stitched patches!  I think I need to figure out how to display these somehow.  The book quote really needs to be framed and put up in my bedroom!

and a Batman bookmark that made me laugh out loud!

She also put in a Milky Way candy bar - to go with the whole Universe theme!!

Thank you so much, mthrasher138!  I'm thrilled with all my goodies!  You were a wonderful swap partner!
