There are armholes. Scroll through all the pictures and there's another one of the shirt all by itself. The armscye is there. I think the back neckline might be cut with a bit of a curve to it instead of straight across. Also the edge of the 'scarves' is really a trim that is added to the edges to finish them out. Zoom in on the bottom of the shirt where the 'points' are. See where the edges of the trim meet on the right side? The trim goes all around the shirt including the back of the neckline. You can also see the seam from the back on the left side if the shirt. Zoom in.

That might change tha drape enough that you might not be able to leave it off. Or maybe you could. Play with it. It's always possible to add that trimmed edge after you've sewn the shirt. You wouldn't even have to rip the seams apart.

I don't know if I'd curve the hem. The shirt draping the way it does is partly due to that straight hem. Make a shirt out of old bedsheets first to try out a curved hem. Don't waste beautiful scarves on experimenting. I agree with redredrogue that this thing has four seams. Although I'd alter her pattern a little to look like this:

Small picture of the shirt. If you want to take a good look at it follow the OP's link.

You know, I don't even think there are real arm holes! Charging $250 for something with, like, four seams is crazy... good on you for making it yourself!

I think it's like this, without the collar part in the back:
