Well I just finished a practice one! It turned out all right...

Except the sides dont line up...

And the handle got squished when I sewed the lining in...

But I still like it! Grin I might try one or two different tutes and then depending on my partners questionnaire, Ill choose then! And, I was REALLY excited to use that heart fabric I snatched out of the scrap bin today at the local quilt store (as much as you can fill in a ziploc for only $3!!!) Cheesy

All right, well I had another go! Turned out much better than the first one. The best part is, the sides line up haha! This one I was leery about using the white thread bc of the contrast, but I really like the pop against the black. I also changed the size up and like this size better. You really could do any size.

This one is going to a friend at work, and the pink is going to my mom. I realllly want to remake the yellow/black one for myself, and find a Pittsburgh Steelers patch to sew on it....that one will be for MYSELF! Grin

After these two, Im feeling pretty confident about making a nice one for my partner! Smiley

Oh Wendiek, it seems 3rd time's the charm! I have everything cut and ready to sew for my "alone time" on Sunday Morning.
Perhaps I should do a practice one first too?
Yeah, I better do that!

I have my small just about 90% done. Grin

Hahaha, you don't have to do a practice one first silentblair! My brains weren't functioning, really! Sewing the wrong sides together, twice! How stupid is that! I must have been in the French seams thought of the Craft this tote swap...
No, that is not it, I was just so tired, I couldn't think straight!

But it looks good, I think:

Anyway, I have the fabric I want for the extra. Now I need to figure out how to and then sew!
And girl, you are fast! Almost done with your extra, I better stop typing and start sewing....

Here's the GALLERY

Let’s all get organized and swap some fabric baskets (or buckets, boxes, or bins—any sort of free-standing fabric storage container)!

Here is a link to a list of ten tutorials for all of these options.  Beginner sewists might feel intimidated by this idea, but there is probably something in the list of tutorials that you could tackle.  Here’s another: Square-bottomed canvas bucket.  I also posted a tutorial on my blog for the baskets in the picture above. You don't have to use any of these tutorials or patterns, though.  If you have a link not included here, share it with us below!

Details of swap:
--You will craft one fabric storage container, using any pattern or design, PLUS one small crafted item to suit your partner’s tastes.
--You will have a little over 3 weeks to craft, from 2/11/12 to 3/6/12.
--You have creative freedom to use any fabric, any embellishment, any technique you want to make your fabric basket and the extra; just be sure it is something your partner will like, by looking through her wists or pinterest, and questionnaire.
-- Please post in this thread (or the gallery thread) at least once a week so we know you are still crafting with us.

- No one like to be flaked on, so if you aren't sure if you can do this swap, don't sign up.
- You must get delivery confirmation if sending within the U.S., or a mailing receipt if sending elsewhere.
- If you must send late, let the organizers and your partner know ASAP.
- Good communication is very important.  Please stay in touch by posting weekly in the swap thread.
- Please post photos of the package you receive in the gallery.

Well I finished my "practice"/babyshower gift basket.... I got the outer fabric as a remnant from Joann's.... I am so addicted to their remnant pieces and I had bought a half yard of the inside and when I got home and was ironing it realized they were from the same series! How crazy is that! Well here it is in all is glory!
