To late celebrate for Mabon and just to share: behold my wonderful garden in the beginnings of the end of the harvest season!

Where the dried sage I swap grows:

My latest harvest: tomatoes, beets, black beans and dill seed heads

It was rainy the day I took these shots. But I just wanted to share-that's the only thing I regret going into the colder seasons of the year! I got lots of produce this year-28 ears of corn, tons of dill seeds, lots of broccoli and green beans and about a pound of dried black beans on top of the tomatoes and tons of pears that turned into pear butter.

Happy belated Mabon and welcome Samhain.

Maman Tattoo, I adore your blog.  The pictures and potions are wonderful!

On the crafting front, I'm done with another small, and am on my third try of a medium-large.  I took a break from swap crafting to do some personal crafting.  Me & ms. mandymo13 were shopping at Le Target the other day and I really liked this guy:

It was like $15,or $20.  Not outragoeus, but gee, I'm crafty.  So I found an iron candle holder at Goodwill for $2.99 and made this:

Sorry about the exposure, camera phone pics always suck. Anywho, I hot glued some yarn to make the straight lines of the web and used the hot glue to make the in between ones.  I painted the web gold and added some gold glitter.  I really like how it turned out.

Anyone have any idea on how I can make those antique looking orange votive holders?

Suggestions would include altar or spell-casting items such as candles, bowls, oil blends, etc. - as well as altar cloths, statues, jewelry, decorations, stationary, or more - look at previous galleries of similar swaps for ideas if you need them!  Be creative!

Please consider your partner's interests and requests when crafting, and feel free to contact your organizer with questions or worries! If you have any doubts about your partners interests, please ask them to clarify to make sure they will be receiving something they can use and enjoy.

This round we will be crafting a Samhain package for our partner that has a 5 point total. You can increase that if both partners are willing to do more (or if you just want to spoil your partner!) AND if you are able to send on time. Please make all effort to send on time!

Point values per size are:
Small-1 point
Medium-2 points
Large-3 points
Please abide by the general guidelines for size/time invested for deciding point makeup.

Communication is vital to a positive swap experience!

Please post at least once a week in the thread so everyone knows that we are all still working steadily towards completion of our project. Feedback will reflect communications with organizers and on the thread so remember this as an important aspect of this swap!

I hafta show it off XD

This is the 1st session. I have to get a second session done in about two weeks to get it touched up and filled in. It hurt worse than I thought, especially on the side closer to my hip, and I jerked hard, so my friend who was doing the tattoo had to pull it quick, and tried to touch it up a bit, but it was getting late, we were both getting tired, everyone else wanted to drink, I needed to get home, and one of our other friends just wanted all of this to end for the night because I hurt his hand. Poor guy. I grabbed and yanked and clawed and bit his freaking hand like mad when it hurt XD;;; His hand was so covered in bruises and things today, and I hurt him pretty bad when I bit hard and grinded when a spot on my tattoo hurt badly (I cried in the beginning LOL) so when I was on my break during a class, I went to Safeway and bought him a pack of smokes. He was really happy haha. I love it, but it's probably the only one I'll end up getting done.

I'm looking into getting a new tarot deck. I still love my deck dearly, but I have a lot of trouble working with it... It's.... Stubborn... My old deck and I worked really well together, but I passed it on to a friend of mine, and the deck prefers her to me. (Ironically, it got passed onto me from an old friend of mine when the deck worked better for me than it did for her) If I don't keep my current deck, I might pass it onto Boyfriend. The cards may get along better with him, but I'm not sure. I might let him play with them next time I see him, and just observe. If not, I'm gonna buy him the Necronomicon deck eventually. We'll see.

Any suggestions on what might be a good deck to try next? I've had the manga tarot, and now I'm on the Mystic tarot I think?

Okay convencrafters! I need your help!!! I recently had a tattoo put on that was done partially because I needed to cover an old tattoo that doesn't represent me at all anymore. HOWEVER! The new tattoo has a very lifelong story to it, and it is one of the main reasons I changed my name legally. During a meditation a few years back, I kept visioning a Raven, and it always brought me to beautiful areas.
In my very long ago days of of BBS boards, I used to go by Draven, no NOT because of the CROW movie. It happened because someone had "somehow," taken that identity more like the Sysop changed it for a would be chic he liked. LOL Anyway, I made a new one called it Draven, which stood for dark raven, redundant at best I know. I found it very funny, that my spirit guide would later become a Raven.

Anyway, all through my teens and early to middle 20s I had dabbled with the occult and learning what I could. I temporarily lost some sanity and went back to Catholicism for a while, probably due to some deep seeded guilt by my 'rent. that I should raise the kids in "The Faith."

That same 'Rent now understands that we both have a path and each must follow it. He even accepted and adores the new name. Albeit, he still mainly calls me MONSTER. LOL
Here is my tattoo
I need a background for it. I love colors way to much and just the silhouette is driving my bonkers. Dad is going for his second large tattoo on Wednesday and said, pick a design and come with me, will get it done at same time.
I know I want it to represent me.. ThE WITCH that I am. LOL I want Gemstone colors, or as dad calls it Halloweeny colors:P Gotta love the 'rent/s.
I would like some suggestions, fire away and any images you might think of two. I was wondering if a BOS/Broom/Dripping Candle would be to much or able to be done just right? Just so you know in advance, my artist is AMAZING. He is also a very reputable portrait artist too, so talent is definitely there.

Thanks everyone.

I'm glad it perked you up.  This is why I haven't been checking for pet interference in the craft room:
. The boys came from fifth place to go to the Series!  Grin

It's craft-related, too.  It was part of the baseball swap that we did last summer.  Tricky McVomit was my partner (I made her a baseball tote).
