I rec'd the most wonderful little package today from suereal!  Since she got me into this...LOL...she sent me 4 ATC's to jumpstart my collection.  YAY!!!!  Let me tell you, there was much squeeing over here as we opened them, from both my partner and from me.  Cheesy

First, she sent me an ATC of her avatar, which I love because it will always remind me of her:

And she sent me a picture of her very first ATC, which looks amazing:

(The laminate on them makes them a little hard to photograph, even without the flash, indoors.)

Then, here is where the squeeing started.  She made the most *adorable* little hand drawn fox and rat in love ATC!!!  Oh suereal, we just love it so much.  The little hearts drifting up, the moon, it's just so unbearably cute.  And there is nothing, and I repeat nothing, that makes us as happy as fox/rat and Mulder/Krycek (from X-Files) themed stuff.

And then this *gorgeous* paisley ATC, which has felt applique, embroidery AND beading!  What a knockout piece!

It's just amazing, and we are going to hang it as a Christmas ornament.  You see, we have not had a tree or decorations for many years and are just getting one this year, so we have NO ornaments.  Not one.  I am expecting a few from swaps, including the glittery Christmas ATC's I've asked for here, yay!  And I bought some candy canes, and my son and I are in the process of making some but aren't done yet, and that's it so far!  And other than candy canes, I have resolved to ONLY have handmade ornaments.  So this will have a place of honor as our FIRST, and I hope you feel as honored by that as we intend, suereal.  Smiley

Thank you so much for these.  I love them so much.  And they came after a couple of hard days and brought much happiness.  I really hope you like the one I sent you, too.  What a wonderful way to start my ATC collection, indeed.  This concept is so awesome and I can't wait to have a collection of everyone's artwork.

When it rains it pours.  I got 3 ATC's yesterday!

First goddessgarb, casue it is her first ATC ever!

This is the "cover" of the ATC.  It says...of all the bioluminescent life forms in the deep, there is one tiny creature whose light show puts all others to shame.  It's deep blue lights can be flashed in unison or alternated in an endless number of animated patterns.  It is written with this uber cool metalic foil kinda ink, so the words look like tiny deep sea creatures hehehe.

When you open it you find...

A wee Firefly Squid!  It's done in pointalism, so you are only seeing the luminose spots.  Its so COOL!!  I wish I could get a better pic.  Thank you goddessgarb!

Then I opned one from jessiben.  She chose me for obscure siants.

This is Saint Lidwina.  Aparently, when she was 16 she fell on the ice and was paralized.  She spent the rest of her life praying in bed and had visions.  She is the patron saint of Iceskaters!!
You can kind of see it in the photo, but the whole card is covered in a very preatty glittler that is very subtle.  And her cross and hallo are a shiny gold that didn't come across in the photo to well. Thanks so much jessiben

And my 3rd one for today is from Thenutmeg2000.  She chose me for Art Quilt...and I think it is her first ATC?

It's cut from magazines ( I think).  ANd it's in my favo colors.  ANd I think this would be adorable full sized on my bed hehehe.  Thanks for the tiny quilt Thenutmeg2000

The cool paper behind 2 of the photos was the card from goddessgarb.  Jessiben sent me a card too, but all the stuff had fallen off.  But there was a very cute snowmen and trees inside
Thanks again everyone!

And here I am at long last to post pictures of the terrific cards I received from susanab and WideEyedLife.

From susanab on the topic of trains comes this fun map from the NY subway along with its own MetroCard just in case  Wink  This is enough to make me want to head for New York!

and, with the card in its special little pocket...

Then, from our esteemed organizer, WideEyedLife, a card on the topic of world travel from her days in Belize in Central America.  This card is two for one - first, a photo she took of a Mayan ruin.

The card opens up to reveal a double photo inside that gives a stereoscopic or 3-D view of another scene.
Very, very cool.   Cool

Thank you both - I love these cards!

OK, so sorry everyone for being so late to post pics.

Here is the first one I received from susanab, "Pop Top Art" for my found objects theme. The colours of the photo are a bit skewed towards yellow, but the colours are really vibrant. The pop top has been attached with wire rather than glued, so it moves just the teeniest bit - just enough to make it more 3-dimensional.  Smiley

This next one is from mxer145 for old buildings. Cause it has a matte surface, I could use a flash, so the pic is a bit sharper than the others and you can see most of the detail. It's really great.

And these last two are from muddy21 and they are both of historic buildings from Exeter, New Hampshire. The first one is my favourite. (Unfortunately, the photos I took are pretty blurry.)

Thanks so much guys - they're all great!

Okay, so here are all the cards I've received this month... For some reason, I thought because I had taken pictures of all but the last two cards and resized them etc. that I had also posted to the gallery - I'm so brilliant.  So I apologize to my partners for being so delinquent.  If it hadn't been for our incredibly organized organizer (thanks WideEyedLife!) it would have totally slipped my mind!

First, "Zen Numbers" from SusanAB - thank you!

Then, the beautiful "Crystal Winter" from WideEyedLife - wow, I wish I could draw like this...  There are sparkles, too - I'm not sure how well they show up...

The very cool addition to my clocks theme from Alchamy513 - I love the darkness and gloominess of this - it's how I feel about the passage of time quite often!

And finally, two cool cards from Suereal - the squid is super shiny (what a cheerful squid!) and the other "70's Banquet" is a bonus - I'm sure glad I wasn't old enough at the time to remember if my mother tried to feed me stuff like this in the 70's - liver in lemon sauce, wow...

Thanks everyone - and again, I'm sorry that it took me soooo long to post pics - certainly not because I didn't love the cards!

Yeah!  I get to be first to post my beautiful cards!

I received these lovely ATCs from tristitia.   Grin

She chose my Shakespeare theme and made me this stunning "The Winter's Tale" ATC, complete with snowflake ribbon background (shiny and sheer and oh, so pretty! I took a second photo just to show it off!), and crystals, and a lovely snow maiden.  So elegant and sophisticated!

And--yeah--bonus!  A cheery Christmas dove of peace for Christmas greetings, and a vintage-look flower tag!  So lovely!

What a wonderful package to get in the mail!  Thanks so much, tristitia!  Smiley

I received two amazing cards today, one from goddessgarb and one from tristitia! I love them both so much, they are my very first ATCs ever!

First, goddessgarb claimed me for astronomy and made me this amazing card (I had to edit my picture a bit because every one I took was so washed out you could barely see the writing!)

And next, tristitia claimed me for octopus, and even added some gears in (I love gears!). She also sent me a bunch of awesome extras that I'll definitely be using on my next batch of cards!

Awesome cards so far, thank you so much guys!

A got a superb card from AmandaBL today.  Not only is it her first card (here at least) it is her first swap!  I'm tickled to be the recipient.  ANd she picked not only one of my favo topics, the song is off the first album which will all ways be one of my favo things.  I got a very cool extra card too.

Isn't it wicked??  I just love it.  Thanks so much AmandaBL.  And then there is the extra...

It's a poke art picture!  And it is delightfull!  I love how it looks like a fish too and she used "sea" as the "see".  Wonderfully surreal.

Ringing out the old year with 3 ATCs!

This is "As a Dream in the Night" by WideEyedLife!  It was created with Prismacolor pencils (oh I WISH I could draw like this), feathers, some lovely yarn, a piece of a foreign book. WEL says she hasn't really done collage before! I foresee her doing tons of collage in the 2011! This is SO BEAUTIFUL! Thank you so much!

I received TWO photographic ATCs from Muddy21 for my "trains" theme. They were taken at the Golden Spike Natl. Historic Site in Utah. The top ATC is of the last tie that completed the  first transatlantic railway (1869).  The Jupiter ATC  is a replica of the engine that brought Leland Stanford to the opening ceremony. Muddy21 knows here stuff!! Thank you, these are so historic!!

The ATC love is rollin in now.  I got 2 envelops with cards in them today.

I got a cute card from rOck with me for favo childhood stuffie.

Love his punked out eye

The 2 cards from goddessgarb.  One is an extra.  The first is from one of my favo movies, 12 Monkies

Crazy pills (I'm sure a few of those are ones I take Grin) and then it has a quote from the movie overlay..."You know what crazy is?  Majority Rules!" hehehe

This one is the extra.

A bunch of guys worshiping the great TV god!  It says.."Jeffrey Goines:  There's the television.  It's all right there - all right there.  Look, Listen, kneel, pray.  Commercials!  We're not productive anymore.  We don't make things anymore.  It's all automated.  What are we "for" then?  We're consumers, Jim.  Yeah.  Okay, okay.  Buy a lot of stuff, if you don't, what are you then, I ask you? What? Mentally *ill*."  So funny/sad Grin

Thanks a bunch y'all!

I received three ATCs yesterday!  Yeah!

The first one, made by susanab, is on my "twisting midnight" theme.  It's a zentangle, plus a clock, and the infinity symbol!  About it, susanab says
It's actually the infinity symbol--which does look like an elongated 8 on its side! So it has to do with time: midnight, the clock with12 and 6 and the twisting of time into infinity.

So cool!  So much thought going into the theme!  I really like where it makes my mind go: all of the different elements of the piece come together so well both artistically and intellectually!

Thank you, susanab!

Next up, are these Countdown to Thanksgiving themed ATCs from jessiben.  And they are so fun!

I love the irony of "gratitude" written on this one.  I mean, I sure am glad I'm not the turkey! lol

And this one was a bonus!  Yeah!  So simply elegant, and beautiful.  I love the pattern on the paper and the glittery numbers!  (I'm such a sucker for glitter! lol)

Thanks so much, susanab and jessiben.  Great cards!  Smiley  It's like it's Christmas in January.   Grin

Ok, finally pictures! I think I have one more coming... but I finally have fresh batteries and my camera up and running so here are two amazing cards I received (sorry it took so long!).

First, a beautiful handdrawn card by Seeba7 for Labyrinth... two of my themes! I love it, its so beautiful! She also sent me a big flower cutout to use, I somehow didn't get a decent picture of it.

(Sorry for the hair, my dogs and cats love my room so there is more cat hair than not!)

And next another beautiful handdrawn card from Goddessgarb for distopian. She based it on "Fahrenheit 451" which I have yet to read, and its done over watercolors. So awesome!

and a slightly blurry pic that shows the colors much better:

Thanks girls! This was such a fun swap, I'll most likely be joining a future one!

I got -2- ATCs from tristitia on my "Countdown to Thanksgiving" theme.  One was a bonus--yeah!

First, I have to include a photo of the adorable hand-made card that came with them.  And of the envelope she sent them in.  The envelope made me giggle!

And now for the ATCs!

They're SO cool!  I love their steampunkish quality, and their subtlety.  They're textured and layered and antiqued.  I can see that she used stitching, stamping, what appears to be laser cut out numbers (SO cool), and a very neat texturing medium.

Very impressive and a great addition to my collection!

Such a delightful package to receive!  Thanks so much, tristitia!
