Thanks AI and Panthermoon Smiley

My new Koh-i-noor Progressive Woodless colored pencils arrived today from the Czech Republic!  I LOVE THEM!  Gorgeous weight, and smooth color.  This does not mean I am any GOOD at shading or coloring, but at least I have good pencils to learn with now.

I read a tip about using a Qtip and baby oil to blend these pencils, so that is what I did with this set of cards.  The finished result looks a lot like watercolor in person.

Siobhan

Rory

Fat Buddha

The following set was made for a Column A + Column B swap (as seen in previous WIP pics)

Coffee Cup + Tree

Manly Man + Apron

Toilet Paper + Lotus Flower (no baby oil blending on this one)

and the now infamous Chicken + Hand Held Egg Beater
otherwise known as Rambo Chick

My neck is sore from painting tonight's cards:

Aries
metallic paper and microglitter on textured acrylic paint background

the background on Aries is kinda fun.  I painted bristol board with a thick coat of acrylic paints, and then sprinkled baking soda on while it was still wet.  I let it dry, then brushed the soda off (have to rub it pretty good).  It leaves a fabulous texture with a hint of shimmer (which I cannot seem to photograph well).

Young Frida on Blue

4th in my Frida series. original acrylic painting.

Frida in White

5th in my Frida series. original acrylic painting

and a couple more geishas for good measure  Grin Grin

Miaka
papercut on flocked paper and faux leather texture paper background

Teruko

Today's work:

My first 2 fabric ATCs, both hand embroidered with button & glass bead accents.  Not really sure they belong in papercrafts, but don't want to separate them from my gallery.

Moon Goddess

Earth Goddess

They were both a lot trickier than I had imagined.  The small scale wasnt so much the issue as making sure the finished piece would be the right size. They are both backed with felt.

Coral Dancer
yet another collage in this series.

Too Much Info!

She Daydreams of Freedom

camera flash caught the "glass" (high gloss glue)

There was also another geisha silhouette, but I forgot to upload her here. Same as the others with different papers.

I am also working on a challenge card.  A friend wanted a private trade.  She wanted a geisha theme, I wanted Einstein (she can rock a caricature).  So now we are each making Einstein AS a geisha!

I had actually drawn a whole face, hated it, but this half turned out ok, so I reworked it into a collage  Grin

Smiley Thanks girl!

They are FAKE metal plates - I used glue stick to put a gold foil paper onto chipboard, burnished it down well, then used a black pen to "etch" the words into it.  Draw on some fake screws, and rub away the ink, leaving just a hint of it to look like oxidation.  Easy and fun!
Looks real in person too.

A few more for today:
