I whipped this red hot plate up on a whim yesterday.

I simply cut a clear square 5x5 inches
Then a 3x5 and a 1x5 strip of red translucent
Then a 1x5 strip of black.

Lay the 3x5 of red down on top of the clear.  Then the black 1x5 strip next to it and finally the 1x5 red to the right.
Then I cut small pieces of dichroic glass and laid them on top of the black strip - Tacked them down with a bit of glue, popped it in the kiln and did the first fire to make a blank.

Then put the blank on a mold and slumped it to make a plate.  There are several websites that show you the steps.  Easy to do!
