I usually cheat and put together baskets for the adults that I have to buy for.
I am pretty similar to to this. I just moved to Iceland from the States (Cali) a little over a year ago, this will be my second christmas here. I really don't know everyone well enough to be able to handcraft or even buy things that are super personal like I normally enjoy doing, so this year I am taking on an old tradition my mom used to do of the baskets. Everyone always loved them, and this way I can kind of show off to my husband's family with my crafting and cooking skills, removing all my stress. Here is what I will be putting into my baskets (so far):

everything below is handmade
Kahlua (including handpainted holiday bottles. this recipe comes from my mom)
Pumpkin Bread
Snickerdoodles
Chocolate & Peanut butter fudge
Chocolate covered coffee spoons
Apple Butter
chocolates
ornaments

and of course something small and personal for each specific person. Here is a poor quality example of the bottles I have already started on:

Thanks Redheaded rowdy...my bro thinks the PA Bar logo is the coolest thing since sliced bread and has been talking about since he took the bar in July...so I can't wait to see his face when he opens this ornament on Christmas morning! Shocked)

I freehanded the embroidery just from looking at the printed logo so it was quite the feat..can't say I'd ever embroidered a horse before-let alone two!

Here's a couple more ornaments:

Top row: Friend's apartment building, Eiffel Tower, State of Florida
Bottom Row: Starbucks cup, Basketball, School Logo

Some more wedding cakes...the black/white one has silver linked hearts on each layer, the top one has two rows of tiny heart embroidered on each layer, and the four layer one had a tiny embroidered version of a willow tree figurine on the top..wish these photographed better!

I'm so happy I found this post! Lately I`ve been having such a craving to get started on my Christmas Crafting! Here is my list below (If I have time, I will add more):

Family

Mom – Works in a Day Care (which she is always doing crafts for them). Likes to relax on the couch and watch movies. Already has a cozy blanket (last year's Christmas present from Dad) and a ‘magic’ bag. Doesn't really like ornaments. Trying to watch her weight.

Dad – This is a tough one; he`s so hard to buy for! Enjoys going to the movies, garage sales, auction sales, hunting, antiques and the Blue Collar Comedy. He is not really into music or sports. Works as a carpenter but dreams of owning his own auction company. Maybe something to motivate him to start his business?

Brother – 25 years old. He plays bass in a band, loves to party, allergic to pretty much everything (food wise).  Maybe something for his band?

Friends

Boyfriend – Loves sports (they are his life). He plays baseball, polo, golf, curling, etc. (I have the logo to one of his teams on my computer if that helps?). Likes anything chocolate and peanut butter. We always talk about places we want to go, so maybe something for travel?

Friend 1 – 18 years old. Girly, likes to party, loves anything with a zebra print. Might be going to college next year. I think I might bake something and put together a kit with nail polish, make up, etc. Maybe a zebra make up bag??

Friend 2 – 23 years old. Loves pink, stars, country music, likes to party. She just moved into her boyfriend's house. He owns a farm and she is just getting into baking. No sweets, though, she is on WW. Maybe a gift for the two of them? Or an apron like this but with pink stars:

I promise I have more friends. I will add them later  Cheesy

Roomies

I have 3 and am still getting to know their personalities. I might do a little basket for them with goodies?

Work

Managers – A plate of goodies. Food doesn't last long when they are around!
Coworkers I'm closer to – Maybe a mug with hot chocolate mix, marshmallows and a thing of cookies?

Suggestions welcome  Smiley

Can't wait to see pictures of everyone's final results!

I'm going to make one for my stepdaughter and one for my niece. This one's for my cousin's daughter for her birthday Wink

Kids are too dang easy to craft for.

Well this year I'm for sure making Christmas stockings. I finished one already, as a practice in non-wool yarn. These ones will be of wool and I will wrap them in tissue paper every year and pack them up with cedar (at least that is the plan).

This is my practice one (i just wanted to see if i could do it before I spent $$ on the yarn I actually wanted to make them in)

IF i have time after I make those (just got the wool in the mail today for them) I would like to make my oldest daughter a bed for her American Girl Doll (18in doll) out of the doll's box.

If I make something for DD I need to make things for my other two children as well. I try to make them something every year, last year I knit them donuts for their play kitchen (which they share) however at that time my youngest daughter was only 3 months old so she didn't care at all.

Everyone else is getting store-bought stuff cause they aren't really into crafting and I don't have time :-) At least it makes my list shorter.

I'm also working on an afghan for MYSELF errr my family, well it will live on the couch.
