I received a great package from my partner, bonbabbu, on saturday.  I really loved it!  and it was nice to see tuesday grace again.

the whole package, see tuesday?  she's so happy to be home!  she said that she had an excellent time, traveling with bonbabbu, but it's always nice to come home.

some cookies, yummy (YUMMY) chocolate, and some turkish tea.

a couple of volcanic rocks, which my 11 year old son soon confiscated for his own collection!

2 of my favorite pics from the scrapbook, the tree where hippocrates taught medicine.  how cool is that?  I would LOVE to see that in person.  there are so many awesome pictures in this book, bonbabbu took tuesday grace to greece and turkey.  I am so envious!

a leaf from hippocrates' tree

I loved this swap, it was so much fun, and the package was great!!

thank you, bonbabbu, you were a great partner, and thank you, kishcrafts, for such a great swap!!

Mr Potato Head arrived on saturday

and on sunday, we went to a pool party for my niece

you may notice that he's sticking his tongue out at the lifeguard, letting them know what he thinks of the KEEP OUT

a bit later, I noticed that he'd put on his bandit eyes and was fixing to snatch a cupcake!

but by the end of the evening, he was chillin on the lifeguard stand, enjoying the sunshine and childrens' laughter.  he knows how to have fun, that's for sure Grin

on wednesday, we traveled to maggie valley up in the mountains of north carolina for our annual united methodist conference.  we're staying in a little mom and pop motel, with our minister and her family; her daddy is also a minister.  I can't tell you how much fun these people have had with mr. potato head...atleast as much as me.  and my husband!  he's taken so many pics on his blackberry and emailed them to his friends and coworkers and put them on his facebook page.  he keeps getting texts from people asking what potato head is doing now!

anyway, these are wednesday night:

he's using his mr. incredible arm to hold on to the bottle...

but he just can't do it

drunken tater

on thursday, we went to cherokee and mined for emeralds

found one!!

thursday evening found us at granny's country kitchen

freaking out about the mashed potatoes and french fries~he puts his cruella teeth in when he gets upset

the owners have all these statues on the mantle, so he wanted to go meet them; he blends in too well

Galvin's Mini Gallery--Reserved.

The promised pics.

Here are some pics from Galvin's trip.

This one is from our trip to the Nature Museum.

Galvin enjoyed his visit to a Kissing (Covered) Bridge in Rural Ontario.

One of the perks of living in the Nation's Capital is the great Canada Day Celebration.

While Galvin was here we enjoyed lots of biking.

UPDATE:My Angel Package from Wildfyre.
Thank you so much Wildfyre, I love it all so much.

Here's everything all together.

She sent all sort of local goodies (chocolate, post cards, information, and a beautiful Calender).  It's all so nice I think I want to move to Washington  Grin

She also sent some pins, a really great smelling candle melt, a pressed penny, and a Washington quarter.  I tried to get the details on the coins but couldn't manage it with the old camera I was using.

She also sent a really interesting looking local book.  I can't wait until the school term is over so I can read it.

Two new friends  Grin

Now for the fantastic album.
Check out how close Dax is to that wild cat.

Gotta love modern art.

Meeting some locals.

Lots of monuments (sorry for the blurry pic)

More beautiful wilderness.

Thanks again Wildfyre, you are an awesome angel.

Chet's Mini Gallery

Chet arrived at my house in the middle of the week only to discover that I was still at university! He only had to wait a few days before we met each other though, and my mum took good care of him in the interim.

6th June
Chet travelled up in the car to help me move back home. He made a new friend pretty quickly!

He was then kind enough to help me do some packing:

After all that hard work we had lunch at a nice mediterranean restaurant.

We then drove back to London and Chet was able to have a mini guided tour of some of the sights as we passed by them in the car! We'll definitely go back and visit properly later in the summer but he couldn't resist taking photos.

Saturday 13th June
Today we decided to take a trip to York. As you can see, Chet was pleased to finally arrive after an hour and a half car journey!

We visited the Jorvik Viking Centre where unfortunately photography was prohibited. Nevertheless, Chet enjoyed a trip in a time machine back to the time of the Vikings and was able to both see and smell(!) the way in which people lived.

After stopping for lunch in the form of ice cream we then explored York for a while. Chet was particularly impressed by the very old fashioned buildings called the shambles despite them being huge in comparison to him!

Tuesday 14th July
When we returned to London the weather was lovely for a while. Chet helped me to make fresh lemonade:

Unfortunately the weather took a turn for the worse and we haven't been able to go out as much as we'd hoped. However, we visited the Science Museum in South Kensington today. We paid a visit to the Wallace and Gromit exhibition currently being held. Chet was not so sure about this brilliant invention!

It says: "Powdered water. For best results just add water." Wink

And I don't know what happened but on our way back I found him being held at gunpoint! Shocked

It was just a misunderstanding, though, and we soon made our way back home unharmed. I promise to keep a closer eye on him in the future! Cheesy

*Reserved For Walters Adventures In England!*

Walter's Blog Page: http://waltersenglishvacation.blogspot.com/

(Click picture to view full size)

3rd June
Walter arrives on 3rd June, and was a bit shy; he didn't want to leave his envelope!

But as he was hungry, we coaxed him out with some of my Mums birthday cake and a glass of coke!

5th June

I introduced Walter to my pet hamster Nora today, I think they like each other!

8th June

Walter and I were gonna go to London today, but it's been postponed 'till a later date Smiley Instead, we spent a nice day at home crocheting! Walter was a great help to me whilst I was working on my latest project!

Later on we decided to check out Craftster. He enjoyed seeing everyone's adventures!

12th June

Mini shopping trip today looking for garden furniture and hoilday clothes. This is Walter on the way to the shops in our car...

Walter and I checked out some cool socks; he said he liked the panda ones best!

Finally we stopped at B&Q. Walter helped us look for garden chairs. This was his favourite one. He said it was comfy!

14th June

Today we went for a walk around Langdon Hills, which is a massive park with woodlands and stuff.

This is Walter outside the park

Langdon Hills has some great views out over the Thames Estuary....

We saw some local wildlife, including lots of rabbits!

And a snake! No need to worry though; it's only made of wood!

Jamie has returned home! He is quite jetlagged from his long trip back but he is happy to be home with all his goodies!

The decorated box he returned in:

Hello Jamie!

A group shot after everything was unpacked:

Here's the front of his scrapbook. I love the title: Little Pig, Big Adventure!

One of the pages showing Jamie having a good old drink of some German beer:

Another page with him by Queen's star at Hollywood. I'm so jealous!

He brought back a pretty cool keyring:

As well as some Las Vegas magnets (sorry about the reflections):

A great little Las Vegas sign:

Some crooked dice, guaranteed to roll a 7 or 11. On the top it says 'not for use in casinos'!

And finally my favourite souvenir, a pack of playing cards that was actually used in the MGM Grand!

Thank you so much, vamping! Jamie had a wonderful time and I love everything that he returned with!

Finally here is Lottie as she returned home. (I will be sending Knut off soon. Life has gotten crazy!)

Leaflets and tickets of all the places Lottie visited.

An entertaining postcard and a Stockholm fridge magnet.

A huge bag of sweets, and some other sweets and chocolate.

Some chanterelle mushrooms, found, picked and dried by Moawk!

A cool cushion inspired by the Swedish flag. The fish is quite a funny story. Moawk ran out of ribbon so the fish (which is cute!) hides that spot. I quite like it, even though she wants me to find something different to put on there!  Cheesy

Pippi longstocking (who apparently looks a bit like Moawk) Grin

A really cool tea infuser. Sent because usually Moawk eats lots of strawberries in the summer, but they didn't grow so well this year.

Bits of Sweden (leaves, that sort of thing). I think that's a great idea.

And finally two pages of the scrapbook.

Thanks Moawk, it looks like Lottie had an amazing time and you looked after her really well. I hope you'll feel the same about Knut!

Mr. Blue Duck arrived home safely this week from Lmcbride with all of his goodies!

Here he is with all his local goodies! Some amazing cards, chocolate, maple candies, maple chutney, a bookmark, his scrapbook and a CD of all his pictures!

One of the first things he did was reunite with His best friend!

The edible goodies! The chocolate mix is good, a little salty but delicious!

The beautiful cards! Th first one is painted by local artist, the second is a local picture and the third has a seed packet on it that attracts Butterflies! I know butterflies mean a lot to you Lmcbride so I am saving these for a special place to plant them!

The awesome bookmark, with local photos, it is magnetic and folds in half to hold the page you are on!

His scrapbook and my fave page from it! The caption says "Ooh it looks like his head is on fire, but its not!" This one was really cute and made me laugh!

I will have some more pictures to show once I get a chance to look on the CD but otherwise everything was awesome! It really looks like he had a great time and was well taken care of!

Thanks again Lmcbride, feel free to have him visit again anytime!
