Lunique and I agreed to make an XL swap but I hadn't even started to imagine the awesomeness of this package. I don't think I have felt this spoiled - ever! This is totally awesome pants - as my bf would say. We agreed on the sewn stuff, the painting and the two earrings - everthing else was a supprise Shocked

By the way, Lunique, I think Oliver (bf) liked the package just as much as me. He was at least just as blown away.

Teh hugeness of the package:

The ritual inspections of new comming by our fat cat:

The hole loot:

Prepare to awesome craftiness and image overload!

A small purse filled with a little neat stuff:

The stuff it contained. Supercute badges:

A painted wooden bangle:

Two pairs of ber cute earrings:

And what is this?? It's a lunchpack bread wrap Cheesy

A super cute apron - how did you know I needed an apron?!

Lunique is an artstudent and awesome at the painting. I requested a Buggin' Mondrian. And it's awesome. It's not on the wall yet as I have to find the perfect place for it.

Detail of one of the bugs:

And now for my two favorite things.
Here it is. The mighty fishbag:

The cute lining:

And here is the loverly zebra hoodie. It fit's perfectly and it has sooo convinsed me how cool zebra stripes can be! And the orange contrast is just perfect.

She topped it all off with a little wooden tulip, as she's from the Netherlands.

As you can see, I can't start to describe how awesome this is. For once I really think I have been out-crafted. I'm not done with her package yet, but I don't think I can get that far in the next two weeks. Hehe.

All I can say is: AWESOME PANTS! HOLY COW! Thank you so so so so so so so so so so so sooo much, Lunique!

Love,

Alrighty, let's try this again. (My computer crashed as I was finishing this up last time.)

Are you ready to see the amazing package our splendid, spoiling Superhooker sent to me? Well, put your feet up, relax and take a gander...

This is what greeted me when I opened the box and pulled out all the contents. I almost crapped myself when I saw how much there was.

Like I good little girl, I opened the card first. And the phrase on the front, "knitphomaniac", was truly an accurate description of what was to come.

Next up, I went straight for the only package where I had a pretty good idea of what was inside. Rice crispy treats - yummy! These things are one of my all time favorite foods. (Note: I ate five of these as I opened my packages - ohhhhhh so tasty.)

***nom, nom, nom***

The next thing I opened was this uber-cute heating pad with a removable corn insert. I love this fabric!

And it was perfect timing, too, as I have a migraine and have already used this guy twice today. See? (Seriously, I did use it and it helped the pounding go down to a dull roar.)

And then I opened a package and about crapped on myself again. I put these legwarmers on my wist ages ago and never even considered that someone would actually attempt to make 'em for me. These things are sweet! And they are soooo warm.

And here's a gratuitous artsy-fartsy photo so you can see Superhooker's impeccable knitting.

Then I opened this guy and about fainted - a clementine shawl! Woo-hoo! I could not for the life of me get a good photo of this. It is so delicate and soft. And I love that I can wear it with a dressy outfit or a casual one. And it's black, so it matches pretty much everything I own.

And I figured that was the last of the knitting, because by now Superhooker surely has no feeling left in her fingers...

Nope. I was wrong. The next package had this amazing scarf in it. I love this scarf to pieces - the color and wave pattern remind me of my honeymoon in Hawaii. It's so pretty and I love how long it is (though I'm sure Superhooker didn't) because I can wear it so many different ways.

Another close-up. Don't you ever make a mistake, Superhooker?   Cheesy

Then we take a detour from the knitting (but don't fret, there's more to come later). Superhooker made me this adorable t-shirt. My Snort is a rescued dog and she told me that she loves this shirt, Superhooker.  Wink  (P.S. Adopt a dog from your local shelter!)

And then I opened up this bag of what Superhooker called "random goodies". It's a wonderful conglomeration of things I can use in my jewelry. Chinese coins, watch and computer parts, and all other kinds of goodies. Now this is my kind of random.  Cheesy

The next thing I found in my pile of goodies was this book I've been wanting, "Pretty Little Things". This looks amazing and I can't wait to see the wonderfulness of ideas that are inside it's pretty little cover.

Alright, anyone need a potty break? 'Cause there's more lovelies ahead...

Here's a little critter called a Bizzaregogylz. He looks awesome and the idea is to decorate him with whatever you want. Kind of a decoupage blank. I think I'm gonna break out some of my Peru ephermera and turn him into a Peruvian gargoyle.

And then I found this amazing cowl. It's made out of 100% cashmere and is just the softest thing ever. And it's my favorite color scheme, too. I changed my outfit this morning so I could wear this all day long. It kept me so nice and toasty in our chilly Michigan weather.

And then just for a fun extra, Superhooker made me these felt fortune cookies. My niece is gonna love playing with these when she comes over - they're just so cute!

And then I discovered some more sweet goodies - homemade fudge! Are you kidding me? My hubby loves you for this, Superhooker (and so do I!).

And then we've got a few more cuties. Some felted beads (yea!), some sushi chocolate lollipops (at least that's what I'm guessing they are - wonder if they're fish flavored?), and a very cool chunky wood bangle that I adore. The wood grain on this is so cool.

And what's a swap between knitters without yarn? Some yummy, squishy, soft angora yarn.

And last, but not least, a very pretty necklace with a clay pendant. Very classy, yet earthy. (Just my style.)

Superhooker, words cannot even express how blown-away I am with your generosity. I tried to figure out how many hours went into this swap package and stopped counting at about 50 because I was starting to have a nervous breakdown from swap anxiety. Seriously, woman, YOU ROCK MY FRICKIN' WORLD! You know this was a tough couple weeks for me and this package just raised my spirits so much. I could gush on and on, but I'm gonna start sounding like a freaky stalker, so I'll leave it at that for now.

Thank you so, so much for swapping with me Superhooker - you're the bestest!

I feel like a total jerk, I should have had these pics up a couple of days ago, but I've had a really weird week!!!

Anyway, here's the pics of my package from AsphaltQueen, FINALLY!!!

Firstly, check out this box...that's not a little kitty on there, that's my DOG...the box is HUGE!!

The first wave of awesomeness came to me indirectly...AQ gave me 4 points in the STS swap...I got to pick stuff!  This is what I got...a cross stitch from calluna, some handspun from MullersLaneFarms, and some pretty rolags from GothChics:

Next, I got a bunch of goodies from AQ's trip to Peru...
Llama pouch:

Beautious alpaca yarn (it has told me that it wants to be a shawl!!):

Flip top mitts:

Llama socks (refered to as llamasockies):

I think that these socks actually cured me of the flu the other night.  I could feel myself getting sick...I put them on, and all symptoms went away.  They are miracle socks.
And, amazingly enough...this fabulous alpaca sweater.  This sweater fits me perfectly!! I'll have to get an action shot this weekend, I couldn't take one of myself.  It is the softest thing ever!  Also, the colors are beautiful!!:

THEN, AQ sent me some of her fabulous art!
Photos from a Dale Chihuly (I probably didn't spell that right...but I LOVE his stuff!) glass exhibit:

Photos of trees from the Grand Canyon:

This handblown (yes, by AQ, how cool is that!!!) paperweight!  Everyone here is mesmerized by this.  Alexander keeps staring at it.  You can probably see all the fingerprints in the picture.  It is soooo much prettier in person:

This tiny vase (well, its not that tiny, but it is like for one flower, not a bunch) with beautiful wire wrapped beads.  It really glistens in the sun!:

AND, now on to the fabulous jewelry (I told you this was a massive package, I understand if you need to go get a drink or something).
This brooch is the most fantastic thing ever.  I love the bee, and the silver, and the green, and all the gizmos in there:

This is Brandon's fav...he loves the bat with open wings...he says it reminds him of airline wings, but on acid:

This octopus brooch!  I LOVE it!!! the octo has tiny gears all over his little tentacles!!!:

A teacup brooch!!! I hope you can see it in the pic, its details are tiny!  There's a little teacup there!  SWEET!!:

This next brooch is just fab...it is sooo geary and neat, and then there's a tiny little octopus hanging down.  So cute!:

And lastly, this isn't actually jewelry, but it is so fancy, it should be!! check out this picture frame!!:

Ok, need a snack yet?  Hurry up, there's more!!  Here comes knitted stuff!!!

She knit me socks!!!! check out how cute!! AQ, they fit just perfectly!:

She also sent these cute little scrubbies.  They work really really well!:

AsphaltQueen then also sent me an entire wardrobe...all declaring my knitting-nerdiness!!
She sent TWO hoodies:

(I'm wearing the blue one right now!!)

and a whole mess of tshirts!  check em out!!

and two tshirts for my hubby!:

NEXT!!!  here's some Ikea fabric, and I am obsessed with it:

And then, the cutest thing ever!!!

And if that weren't enough...stuff was tied with these ribbons:

AsphaltQueen...I don't even know what to say.  I LOVE EVERYTHING!!!  it is all so wonderful!!  Thank you Thank you!!!  You are the best!!!

So Lunique and I made a XL package to each other. And of course I had to go and make more than we decided on, though this time it's not as much as I usually do cos of the XL part. As Lunique is on Cypress for some time we agreed that I should post pictures for her.

Here is almost the entire package (some digital art is not included as it was way easier just posting directly from the comp - but it's printed and in the package)

Experimental jewelry:

excuse the strange tired look on my face!

The third one can be used for more than one thing:

The accessories:
A magenta scarf:

A crochet rainbow skimpy:

Two pairs of knitted fingerless gloves in contrasting colours(as Lunique LOVES that):

A London hood in red wool with "as wrong as possible" lining. It's not too clear on the picture but the leopard print is green and red on a strangely light brow background:

The art. These six has been printed out on proper paper. Each on a piece of A3 (the colors are totally off on my screen. the yellow looks like neon yellow - it's not irl!)

A rainbow hooded t-shirt with rough edges:

And for the large sew item is an orange light jacket with orange tartan lining. It has an asymmetrical collar and little ruffles on the back:

Phew, I think that was it. As you can see; XL. I'm scared as always that the clothes wont fit hehe.
Oh yeah for you who might wonder, I send the package to some family in the Netherlands that is gonna visit her soon, cos apparently Cypress mail is not very good.

Hope you like it all Lunique! Love to ya!

-pseudo

(I'm gonna make individual threads for the jacket and the experimental jewelry as they were new/bigger project.)

This one is nautical cuteness

This one is based off of this shirt in my faves

GET READY TO WIST!  My package from onegroovyday took my breath away.  This woman does amazing things with color!  I asked for a WIP bag for my knitting.  I am often stuck at school supervising something and wanted a bag to tote my knitting and other necessaries.  OGD thought of EVERYTHING, right down to the tea I'll need to keep my sanity!  Okay, enough chatter:

Here's everything but the needle roll and knitting needles:

Look at these colors!  BEAUTIFUL!

A painting for tree lover me -- OGD and her daughter did these together -- Gramma OGD got DD's tree!  I am honored by this pair and share!

Tea wallet and handcrafted stitch markers!

Stitch marker wallet!

needle roll . . . wait for it . . .

Knitting needles!  The purple sparkly ones are HANDMADE RESIN NEEDLES!!!!!

Did you see these?  Cheesy
The inside of this bag is as pretty as the outside -- and it has a place for knitting needles!

And a pocket for my new cup and everything I need to make tea!  There are elastisized pockets in this bag, too, for yarn!

Action shot

BFF, ML!!!!  (until you get your package from me . . .)

Love you bunches!  I love these colors!  Are you guys wisted out?  Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy

I want you all to behold the lovely package I received from SugarySweet:

First, my dear, dear sister-in-law begged me to give her my poppet, and NO WAY girl! So she said can I "pay" someone to make one for me? (The girl has no idea of what it means to buy a hand crafted doll, like "$200-$300?) But she only wants a "naked" poppet, because she likes to hand sew the clothes. okay . . .

But I received the BEST poppet! Bad enough to not to know who you are yet or where you are going. I couldn't embarrass her by actually photographing her naked. She is most timid. So I knit her a wrap. She is impeccably stitched. so perfect!:

And here is a close-up of her beautiful face, eyes, hair:

Then SS made me something for my "victorian" bathroom. A perfectly hand embroidered picture. I just love it!:

SugarySweet, then made a organizer/pocket wallhanging, with bright colors and florals. LOVE the colors and fabric choices. It is so long that I folded it to get it all in the picture:

I love cardmaking, and all my partners get me a wonderful ATC alphabet set & rubber stamps, but look at what SugarySweet got, 1.5 inch ornate squares! Outstanding!:

Okay, must stop for tea. NO PROBLEM, yummmy! Yes, a box of sweet, spicy tea:

Now onto my wonderful supplies, fabric, papers of many kinds, diecut paper/frames,
cards, and more goodies:

Amazing isn't it? I've been totally spoiled!
so what can I say but:

Thank you so much, SUGARYSWEET!!! I loved swapping with you. I LOVE EVERYTHING!

I arrived home from out of town last night to two lovely packages, one from Alli_Lucy and the other from jungrrl.  Wow!  You both were so generous and picked up on different aspects of exactly my taste!!

OK, here's the lovely package from Alli_Lucy, which arrived wrapped in tissue paper from a vintage Simplicity pattern--brilliant!

Here's the whole package, unwrapped, including:  flower belt, laptop bag, embroidered kitchen towels, knitted washcloths, and handmade soap!

Details:  the lovely tie belt--this is my favorite shade of green!

The washcloths (amazing--I don't believe that she's a new knitter!!) and delicious-smelling soap (is this a locally-made soap, Alli??):

Laptop bag, made of a reconned sweater (!!!), with my laptop inside:

And the lovely kitchen towels--I LOVE embroidered kitchen towels, and these are so intricate yet minimal--I love them!

Thank you so very much, Alli_Lucy!  This is a fabulous package and I'm so very pleased with it!

Now on to another gorgeous package--from jungrrl, I received:  a quilted floor mat, a fanta-bulous lunch bag, a oneredboot knitted washcloth, and a handkerchief!!

Look at this beautiful rug!  It's patchwork (and of course patchwork=love), with corduroy binding!!  jungrrl was worried about the binding, but I think it looks great--I LOVE that it's a little unexpected and very modern!!   This is already in front of the sink in the kitchen.  Smiley

The adorable red boot--words fail me, so I'll just say YAY!!

I carry a handkerchief with me at all times, and this one is a perfect addition to my collection!!  jungrrl said that she thought the red stitching around the edge looked like an EKG, so she added an embroidered heart--I love it!

And are you ready for this?  A button-up lunchbag that turns into a placemat!!  Here's the steps:

ta da!!  I love this and can't wait to use it for lunch tomorrow!!

jungrrl, another GREAT swap!  You are such a thoughtful and fun crafter.  Thank you!!!

Alli_Lucy and jungrrl, thank you so very much for such thoughtful gifts!!  You both must have spent some serious time with my wists!  And even though I'm a knitter, I never knit for myself, so I am particularly grateful to you both for sending me such lovely knitted goodness!!    THANK YOU!!!!

I received my package from the amazing Mrs Jenicat today.
Each and every item in the package is truly loved.
Words cannot describe how incredible everything is, so I will try to show you in photos.  I will not apologize for the insane number of pics I have here  Grin

Adorable pinback buttons with trees, forest creatures and naughty words - my favorite things!

A desperately needed and adorable sewing machine cozy, shown here already in use 10 minutes after arrival!

A wonderful felt leaf brooch that will go on my hat when its chilly and my bag when its warm.

Girl with bird on her head stamp!!  I have a stamp just like this (but smaller - this one rocks!) on my wist.  Last year during the dotee swap, carrieme made me a dotee with a bird on her head and Jeni loved it and then saw the stamp on my wist it was modeled after.  She remembered!!

I took the other pieces outside to show them off better in the morning sun.

Super long finger knit lariat with felted balls and felt leaves.  So soft and pretty!

Two pairs of sterling silver earrings - one with labradorite, moonstone and garnet, the other with iolite (all of my favorite stones!!!).  The silver pendant reads "she swims against the tide". My eyes misted when I saw this.

A stunning bronze freshwater pearl and dark turquoise on copper & leather necklace.  This is SO my style.

A chunky cluster bracelet like the one she made Phizzy in the first tree swap!! I had wisted it as soon as I saw it.  I could stare at the beautiful beads for hours.  SHE MAKES HER OWN HEADPINS!!

I am making you all see THREE pics of the last item, and I still cant capture its beauty.  a ropey cluster bracelet of faceted labradorite rondelles.  I had this bracelet on my wist to show my love of labradorite, I never expected anyone to actually make such a phenomenal piece for me.  I wish I could capture the beautiful blue-green flash of the stones. There are a few wee iolite rondelles near the end clasps.

This pic shows a bit of the lovely flash.  It also looks like a weird petri dish on first glance.  Grin

Jeni, thank you so much for being such a beautiful partner, generous and talented artist, and most of all my friend.
hugs and love xxx

Ok, I'm finally putting up these pics of the awesome stuff that AsphaltQueen sent me!!!  Prepare yourselves!

Firstly, AQ made me this kicka$$ frame, that is covered with knitting needles!  It is so cute!!  I have put a painting into it that I received from Murbeck in another swap...it fits perfectly!
Also in the picture is YARN!! (my fav color is green, can you tell?)

Next up, 2 gigantor balls of wool!  They are so pretty!

Next, this gorgeous bag!!!  You guys should really see this!  It totally rocks!  It is super sturdy, and the inside has tons and tons of pockets!  the sides fold in too.  Its a transformer!

and a shot of the inside:

(AQ, if you have better pics, you should post them, this sucker ROCKS!)

Next, an awesome assortment of AQ's beautiful photography, printed onto notecards!!  The pictures are so wonderful, clear and bright!

This picture shows my new favorite hat (GREEN!!!), a cute little cross stitch that now sits in my dining room, a skein of beautiful yarn that hid from me during the yarn picture, and a sock yarn panel!  I've seen these before, but I've never tried one...you knit socks directly from the fabric, and the dye is supposed to make really cool effects!

Next up, a cute pillow for Alexander (he loves it!  he loves to snuggle.)  and the coolest trivet ever!  It is made of strips of coiled newspaper!  I'm using it to display my favorite orchid!

This is one of my favorites!  This mosaic frame!  AQ, I'm hoping to get a good picture for it when we go on vacation this weekend!  It is sitting on my piano, with my other favorite things!

This is a paperweight that AQ blew for Alexander!  It is so pretty!  (please excuse the plastic millipede in the background!)  He totally loves it.

And the koolaide pouch for Alexander!  pardon his "deer in the headlights" look...he always does that when I'm taking a picture!  He is kind of obsessed with this pouch.  He keeps it in his teepee, so I know he loves it!

This is my new glass flower!  hand made by AQ!!  It sits in my kitchen window, it is so beautiful when the sun comes through the window!

And maybe my favorite thing...this blown glass vase.  Oh my words, it is so beautiful!

Thank you so much AsphaltQueen!  you are the bestest!!!!

well -

waiting for my DD to open the box with me was maybe not the best thing to do, LOL!

first - she squeeled like a small piglet and made my head hurt, about a dozen times - I ended up with my scarf a set of chopsticks that have dragonflies on them and one of the hair clips, and she has not only laid claim to everything else in the box but made me help her hang things on her walls already, LOL! She is so tickled, and I am so happy for her.

my scarf, made of silk and very soft!

yes that is me - DD took the photo...

and the rest of the package included:
an antique handsewn Japanese kimono that she is still trying to work out where she can get an obo for and has stolen my scarf to use temporarily

group shot of some of the rest of the items:

hair clips, little bags with bunnies on them which she loved, some wall hangings for her walls, a blue scarf, a key chain, and a multitude of interesting items

she squeeled loudest for   the prosperity cat       a collabsible container    the fan, and this bag    which she ended up with!

some of the hair clips can be seen in this - but she had some in her hair already!

she even dug out her Japanese/English dictionary and is trying to read the newsprint and advertisement that things were wrapped in, LOL!

she snaggled all of it away and I am not even sure if I know what all was in that box now, LOL! Just now she is running around in the kimono, with hair clips in her hair, and waving the fan, waiting for the battery to charge up so I can take more photos!

I think that was the most fun I have had opening a swap box in a long time!

thank you multibeavo! I will get pics of her walls when she is done reorganizing - here is what was on the one already:

what you sent will be a marked improvement on the print outs from my computer!  Wink

now I can't wait to do it all over again when smacckk's box gets here!   Grin

Ronda
Blessings!
