I received a wondrously fabulous package from GothChics yesterday.
She truly spoiled me!

Note: I got a new camera for my b-day.  I haven't figured out how to make it sing & dance yet so the pics are not my finest.  All these items looks much better in person.  Well, at least I figured out how to download them to my computer.

On with the show....

What a lovely box; I wonder what is inside...

Scrabble Coasters (I fave game of mine).  Wonder what it spells...

Ah...Wondrous...a word I use too often because I like the sound of it.

Speaking of coasters, I also received a fab crocheted set along with some crocheted & knitted cup cozies. (sorry for far off pic)

And speaking of cups, check out this wonderful cup purse (straight from my wist) that has been specially made to fit my ds and games.  So many of my random loves in one item.  Grin

a small peek inside...

To continue feeding my love of purses, totes, and the such...
GothChics made me a bucket tote to hold special crochet WIPs.

another small peek inside...

And a Fabulous Felted Striped Bag

Now to more wondrous items.....I adore these wondrous cards; they are beautiful and incorporate not only one of my favorite words but one of my favorite flowers, roses.  I can't believe these are GothChics first go around in making cards; you really should make more.  Next to my cards is some of the best smelling bath salts; I can't wait to relax in the tub tonight.

So I can keep cozy while outside the tub, GothChics created me a one-of-a-kind hat.  She winged the pattern, such talent!  It is so comfy on, and the pic doesn't do it justice.

And for my birthday, GothChics made me a beautiful tree pendant.  I love it!

So as you can see, I truly was spoiled.

Me, too!  Cheesy

It's my turn to show off my partner's stuff!

It's obvious by my avatar that I love anything to do with "The Wizard of Oz" movie, and my partner ran with it, yay!

All the loot:

Some lovely red beadwork and a sparkly red slipper (one of my favorite things!):

Ozzy stickers, magnets, gift tags and scrapbooking fodder (made from stickers, great idea!):

A ruby red slipper candle...yet another clever idea!:

Note cards, which has got to be one the best things, ever! They're so very lovely:

A book mark (or as my daughter calls it, book thong); a strip of red ribbon with beading and sparkly stars, which will definitely get a workout. Also 2 magnets that hold photos, never seen anything like it, love 'em:

Here's a shot of the back to give you a better idea of how they're made along with a shot of me opening the tops to show where the photos are inserted (I really don't have fat fingers!):

A darling bundtcake-shaped soap, pocket memo pad, and my favorite pieces of all, a blue gingham bag with matching wallet and tissue holder, gah!

Front of bag:

Back of bag:

A close-up of the tissue holder and little wallet, which arrived filled with Oz stickers, yay!:

I was spoiled rotten by you Damara, thanks SO VERY MUCH! I can't wait to show all of my Ozzy goodness to my Everything Oz Club, they'll be so jealous! You rock, girlie, and I thank you for your thoughtfulness in making this so spot-on with my love of Oz!

(BTW, Damara asked me to post photos of what I sent to her as well, so I'll work on that and get them up as soon as I have time.)

Hookay, guess I'll go ahead and post what I sent to my partner, Damara (she has computer issues, so hopefully this is okay with her). Although I didn't get a shot of everything I sent, there's still a ton of pics here, hope you don't mind.

Everything all wrapped up in purple (her favorite color) cloth Crown Royal bags:

Crocheted dish rags, Halloween-type stuff (she likes this holiday), cookie cutters (she likes to bake with her daughter) and pirate-y skull pens. I rolled up the dish rags & put them in one of the apron pockets, the cookie cutters were tucked inside the other one:

She likes to garden so I included a few related items. The heart tin is filled with pearly-spikey bead thingies (not sure if it made it into the package). The candle was pre-made, but I decorated it by inserting colored metal grommets into the sides and then painting it with melted wax to seal it:

Make-up was on her list as well, so I threw in a little pouch from a spa in Carmel (Calif.) and put some Avon samples in it:

Pink frilly pouch with a variety of things such as tape measure, crochet hook, vintage buttons:

Apron, vintage purse with pink skull, hand towels, crochet instructions (she wants to learn to crochet), I love purple embroidered bag, tie bookmark (she said she can never find one when she needs it), felted & resin magnets, framed pressed flower in resin. The tie book mark was something I came up with using cardboard inserts I saved from the boxes of Lipton Tea...it just happened to fit inside the smaller end of a tie. I cut the tie down to a more manageable size and re-tied it. It has an Italian food theme because she said she loves to eat at the Olive Garden:

Close-up of framed pressed flower (from my front yard) in resin:

A close-up of my feeble attempt at embroidery:

Close-up of vintage purse and my skull creation:

Close-up of hand towels for her pink and black Marylin Monroe bathroom; I weaved/sewed the ribbon at the ends and tied bows:

The ghost magnet was my second attempt at felting; the pressed flower from my front yard put into resin was one of my first attempts at resin, the pumpkin magnet was a result of my second go at it (it didn't turn out as planned but I sent it anyway:

Closer look at the apron; her kitchen is grape-themed so I made the apron with grapes on the front. The back is lined w/the same print as the pockets (green w/tiny black flowers), which have vintage buttons sewn on them. I'm quite proud of this because not only was I out of practice sewing, but it was made with NO pattern! I used a favorite apron of mine and one of my daughters walked me through it but didn't help with anything. It gave me confidence enough to join the apron swap I'm working on right now!

And no package is complete without a bunch of whimsies!

I had a bit of a fumble getting out of work today (I got the alarm set on me when I was still in the building! What the heck!??!), but everything turned around when I got home to find a huge package waiting for me from kidcompassion...who spoiled me. Wow.

Much like other partners have expressed, we felt like we had a lot in common. It made it all the more exciting a swap. Goodness, where to start?

The first crafted thing I saw was the t-shirt, and I had to pull it out of the box, because Bill Murray was staring at me!:

I heart BM. I am considering violating business casual law and wearing it tomorrow to work. This picture is actually up in the career centre where I work, where I have added a cartoon bubble with him saying the words, "You can get a job." Here is a close up:

But the awesomeness doesn't stop. She sent me a Canada map bag to celebrate a trip I took last year. I don't think I mentioned my love of maps, so this is perfect. Sorry the pic is a bit blurry, but I didn't want to wash out the colours with a flash.

A Walt Whitman magnet for the angsty poet lover in me:

A needle roll - I really like the colours on this one.

Some hand-blended tea - mint from her mother's garden. I LOVE natural teas.

And if you can believe it...kidcompassion knitted me a Clapotis ala Knitty! She stalked me ravel-wise. This is very thoughtful, so comfortable, and beautiful. I am going to try to wear it every chance I get. The purple colour is perfect, and she sent me along the extra superwash merino yarn she made it out of too!

On the floor:

On the me (it is so versatile!!):

She sent a completely random item: a sprout kit. Man this is great. I am so stoked to start sprouting:

Everything together, including the book and Stevie Wonder (eeeee!) cd that she sent:

A sincere thanks to kidcompassion for the awesome swap gear. I love every bit of it. And thanks to Gothchics and rira for organizing.

I got the best package today! JustCheeky is THE best swap partner ever!

Opening the package...(That's my dog, Clover Grace, helping out)

Clover Fabric! And I love the lady bugs with them, too! The cutest clover fabric I own to date.

Everything I pulled out, with pressies still wrapped up!

Note papers and POSTIES! A random fact was I love post it notes.

Stamps! These are so cute! I love the pawprint and how big the four leaf clover stamp is! And the stamp on the ink pad is a lady bug crawling up the stem of a four leaf clover that she bought off of etsy just for me! (Jealous yet?)

One of the random facts I gave her was I collect belt buckles. And she sent this coolest belt buckle!

JustCheeky asked me what was something I've been wanting to make myself and I never get around to doing. I said an eye mask because I get migraines often and have to lie down and it makes me light sensitive. She even made the strap a little loose because of that! My package actually came while I was napping in the middle of the day, so I know this will be used quite often!

This is made from something I had wisted. Turns out, the one I wisted had been made by one of JustCheeky's friend's that she didn't know was on craftster! So she graciously told her how she made hers. This is JustCheeky's first attempt at a stuffie and she did a fantastic job!

Last but not least, she made this adorable pouch for my ipod! She even made a mock ipod to be sure mine would fit! I love the polka dots! (You can't tell, but my ipod is in it in this photo.)

Obligatory ipod-in-pouch photo (and my earphones fit in it too!)

She was really the best partner ever! I haven't even put anything where it belongs yet because I keep going back and looking at all my goodies! Thank you so much, Jen! (Special thanks to my twin, Titancia, for resizing, cropping, and adding fun little bubbles--which surprised me too!)

Today I discovered why everyone always posts swap gifts. narhloki and I decided to swap physically by me swapping my gift for hers on her front porch. OMG. Talk about performance anxiety! All I saw was a bag, an awesome bag and it made me want to speed back home and remake things.

This bag is completely fantastic

Inside there were so many wrapped packages! I was very good and waiting til I was home, out of the rain and comfy before diving in to find....

A beaded wrist cuff
2 pairs of earrings

a necklace made from bits of a dvd remote - I'm going to feel so cyberpunk!

Some paper dolls! One is from Project Runway to test out my clothes making in class in minature. The others are from my fav webcomic Questionable Content! I even have clothes to print out and colour!

At the end of my 50 things I couldn't think of anything to write so I wrote "I hate peas" thinking of that scene from 10 Things I Hate About you. But narhloki was right, I cannot hate squishy peas with cute faces!! My new pincushion will be the envy of my sewing class. The others have already been tested in their boyfriend waking up abilities.

This swap completely rocked. Hats off and much applause to our lovely organisers!!! And thankyou to my partner for sending me pictures of everything as my only camera is my phone and would NOT have done this stuff justice!!

Ok I must be extra blonde today as I looked 3 times before I found this thread!! LOL too much excitement over the parcels I think.

Moonshae and I did an 'in person swap' ... except that I must have spaced and missed the doorbell so well she swapped her bags of goodies with my bag of goodies by my front door. So I missed her Sad ah well.

So to my parcel.

Here's the first thing I pulled out!

I put it on and have not taken it off ... and I doubt it's coming off any time soon, it's so soft and warm and red. Moonshae added a black fringe because she's appaulled I don't wear black ... I think this pic of me wearing a red scarf purple shirt and pink wrap may well terrify her ... rightly so some of you might say!! Yes I'm in my clashy colours phase!

(oops didn't brush my hair!)

The second thing to tumble out of the bag was this patch Moonshae made for me:

I scanned it because I'm pretty sure you wouldn't be able to read it the way my camera goes Smiley
It says 'in case of Zombie Outbreak follow me' I'll probably be the one with an axe and crowbar with the wild look in my eyes. I feel if you are prepared for a Zombie Outbreak you are prepared for everything. Fires, floods pfft, Zombies, that's the thing to worry about Wink

Ok third ... I think the pics speak for themselves. Clearly this little purple dragon isn't loved and there wasn't much squeeing and running round with the camera....

So the next one puzzled me a moment. Jelly:

I'm vegetarian and don't eat Jelly because of the gelatine ... though I love it. But I have a joke about hosting a jelly war ... best not to explain it publically, you might think I'm insane

<whistles to self>

ED Quick note Moonshae PMd me and said this jelly doesn't have gelatine ... it's soo getting eatten!!!

ok and the biggest and fighting with the dragon for best!!

LOL made with supper soft fabric this quilt is adorable! I love it!

This has been an awesome swap!!! Thanks Moonshae!

I got a wonderful parcel from Titancia over a week ago. She has been very patiently waiting for me to  post pictures. Everything was wrapped up beautifully with ribbons  and charms and has little notes giving clues attached to the parcels. I put everything on the bed and gloated for a few minutes. She put so much thought into everything she made and bought. We had lots of fun emailing each other during this swap - we have so much in common -it's amazing for a random swap.

Neither of us is a natural seamstress so I know the work that went into the two book covers that she made me. I never had bookcovers before so I didn't realise how handy they are - especially for reading in the bath. Apologies for the sideways pic. There was also  a novel "I Capture the Castle" which i have finished already.

I got lots of goodies - badges, pins that say "vote" ( I have a mild politics obsession, sour sweets and gum(in the crown royal bag), tattoos, useful magnetic lists ( I love making lists), a stamping thing, 3 lovely bookamarks(in constant use since I got them(I love reading and have a fine bookmark collection). I also got sharpies(can't get them here) and tissues with my initial and a little rose charm.

Here are the earrings - not a great picture.

I collect gem stone eggs and I got these wonderful eggs. Don't they look real? I put them in egg cups straight away:D

Titancia made me jewellery (we are both jewellery addicts. I make and sometimes sell jewellery but I love getting it in swaps, just love it.)
Here you can see the four(!) necklaces I got and the pin. Also in the photo is the pouch I got for my lip glosses/balm because I have loads but can never find one when I need one. And you can also see the password journal I got. I saw that Titancia's sister CloverGrace made one for her swap partner and I was hoping to get one too.

This is a close-up of the beautiful resin pendants. I put on my list that I love mermaids and the sea. The mermaid one has gotten a lot of wear.

This is another necklace that has gotten a lot of wear. It has my favourite colour blue in it and fits the neckline of many of my tops beautifully. You can also see the pin here too. It is so sparkly. I love dragons. I wore it to a meeting last week with a pair of the earrings and felt grand.

I got seven pairs of earrings - one for every day of the week which made me happy. She wrote a poem to explain each earring. Some of my favourites are not here - 2 pairs with roses on them - I love roses. Also not shown(they are on my bag are three cool badges she made me - a Jane Austen one (a mutual interest), a Victorian one (another mutual interest) and a number 5 one (our favourite number!).

Thanks again titancia. This was a great swap. Hope you like what I made you half as much

Thanks to my  husband for helping me with the pictures - my excuse is I have a new computer;p

Oh, my goodness!! Have I been spoiled!! I ended up with the BEST swap partner on the planet! Truly! Saor was amazing, and I had a great time emailing back and forth with her.

First off... Look at that view!! I am just spoiled rotten, and not afraid to admit it! Look at the awesome tote bag!

A close up of the tote bag embroidery. This is so awesome! And so getting used. Last time I ran into the grocery store and bought one thing, I was thinking why don't I have my own bag for this? And now I do! And it's Titanic-ized! How awesome is that!?! (Plus, the flag from the logo is what my tattoo is on my back!)

These are the most beautiful pair of earrings! This fits right in with the rest of the jewelry I wear--and I will get a lot of wear out of this! In fact, everything she sent me is so amazing and so like me it's like she snuck into my bedroom and looked at everything I owned. In the letter Saor wrote me she said "I tried to go for a sentimental Edwardian Victorian feel for the jewellry." It's just perfect! That's exactly the type of thing I love.

A gorgeous kilt pin, which I've attached to my new purse!

The rest of the beautiful earrings that are going to be mine forever and ever and ever, all with beautiful names like "Titanic" and "Scarlett".

Socks, socks, oh my goodness, I love you socks! Striped in my favorite color! What could be better?? A cupcake flower pin, plucked straight from the cupcake tree! And a beautiful cuff that I will wear (Saor said she didn't make it, but I love it just the same!)

I've been drooling over these tree pins for what seems like forever, and Saor made me a beautiful one in sterling silver and Swarovski. This will indeed be a family heirloom!

One of my favorites (though I honestly can't pick just one!) is the scarf!! It's perfect, and has the beautiful cable running through it. I love it. And put it on immediately. Saor said "I think of it as something Cinderella would absently wrap around her neckl while she goes out to tend her roses--after she marries the Prince." How cute is that, and what a perfect description!

And she bought me Jane Austen notepaper and a Mr. Darcy magnet from the Jane Austen Center!! Even the ribbon says Jane Austen Center on it, with the little Jane Austen silhouette logo. The logo is to be my next tattoo--when I figure out where I want to put it--so I was particularly giddy for these.

And last but not least here's a beautiful post card, Jane Austen book mark and some yuuummmmyyy candy!

And, not pictured--Saor was sweet enough to send my sister (clovergrace) a pair of little green clover earrings since my sister helped me with some items for my half of the swap! She's already run off with them, which is of course the reason I couldn't get a photo.

Yes, I realize I've used WAY too many exclamation marks but every time I spotted something I got excited all over again! This was truly the best swap I've ever been in, and I couldn't have had a better partner!! Thank you SO much!!

sooo unfortunately, my partner received both items on the 18th and I haven't heard from her nor has she been on craftster for awhile...my thinking is she's having computer problems so I'm going to go ahead and post for her Cheesy I worked really hard on this stuff and dern it I'm proud! LOL anyhoo here it is... she said she likes pirates and nijas..I picked the former and made a silly pirate who got kicked off the boat since he's lazy and doesn't do anything                                                       here is for her obsession with stuffies the mouth is a pocket!   she says she loves loves loves..lime green..this is close! plus it was a steal so I had to have it and make something out of it...so a scarf for Cooby...it has her name sewn into it and quilted  if she doesn't wear a necklace she twitches a little..here to save the day she loves Disney so sweet little bambi  she likes bracelets so here are a few with fun charms based off her wist aaaaaaannnnd she quilts and sews! so I made her a tool holder with a tape measure (covered like an ice cream cone in her favorite ice cream flavor...not pictured sorry) and scissors and measuring tape   annnnnd I sent her felt in another package...(forgot to put it in..doh!) she says that felt is the best ever...and a journal (she writes stories) covered in a really cool lime green and blue fabric...(no picture) and some candy(just cause) and the 108 ways to change a t-shirt book (that I had ...never used) and a t shirt to change..cause she likes to sew!  I hope she liked everything!  it was fun!  PHEW...over
