i'm so happy!

a package? for me?

oh man

a slew of sewing paraphenelia! all in a wonderful box!

a beautifully made needle book

a craft-caddy type thing - which has already made two trips with me - two!

and the box itself, which is already getting filled up. as is the plastic storage box, in which my bobbins are happily finding a home!

but that wasn't all!

big burly canoeing men in magnetic picture frames. these are PER-fect.

a set of four glass teacups. these are also perfect - i love tea drinking and love to have the coolest stuff to impress my tea guests. i have a glass pot so these will go along splendidly!

beautiful embroidered tea towels. these are very neatly done.

she also gave me a book that is right up my reading alley - "Becoming Jane Austen" - i really enjoy reading about writers but rarely think of it when i go to the library. clearing the book queue is harder than clearing the craft queue, but i think this one might make it on the rotation soon. have you read it, knickertwist?

finally, a picture of everything:

with an incriminating pair of scissors in the background to show how much i need to get organized.

all of this stuff is wonderful, knickertwist, thank you thank you thank you! you do beautiful work. i just decided/found out last night that i am moving to a new apartment in september, the upper unit in the building that i'm in now, and i am looking forward to being more organized in the crafting department. i didn't have any of those things you sent me - not even a plastic storage container to organize bobbins or anything - who knew that having a sewing machine would turn into such an occupation?

now i can't wait for you to receive your package...which will probably be next week.

I received from craftydeb!!  Not only a FABULOUS organizer, but also an incredible crafter!  She spoiled my family to death!  Sorry about all the pictures, but I have to show off all of the wonderful things she sent!

She sent several patterns of things I can make the kids.  I already have fabric picked out for one of them.

She sent a bag full of sewing goodies...

She sent a Christian fiction book with a bookmark she made for me (I love pink!)...

She sent WONDERFUL pink washclothes for the kitchen.  I really love these...especially the ones with the ruffly edges...

She sent a pre-printed piece of fabric so I can make my first stuffed animal with it...

She sent AWESOME dinosaurs for my boys.  She even put their names on them.  They adore them.

And my favorite thing she sent is this bunny for my daughter.  Miss Megan just HAD to sleep with it tonight too.  She loves it.  Bunny is her newest word now...  (Get ready to wist...Deb said this is her own pattern, and she might be selling them soon. Wink)

The other thing she sent are these two little red and white circle things (no clue what they are called), but she said I can use them for a ruffle on the bottom of some pants for Miss Megan.  I adore that idea, and plan to work on those next week.  Wink  I didn't get a pic of them though.

Thank you SO much, Deb.  This swap has been so much fun for me.  I love bargain hunting, and will definitely be signing up for round two.  I just wish your doggy fit in his bed. Embarrassed

WOWOWOWOWOOWOWOWOOWOWOW I received!!! zomg!! It's so awesome!!!

I came home to this box, complete with pokemon stickers:

Opened it to find this!!!

What is this? you might ask... This is the mysterious package that I had to assemble that gleep has been alluding to!

It's already found a good place :-D   Gleep must'a stalked me or something, the table matches my decor perfectly =D

I also got this awesome tote with my domain/username on it on one side and a shroomie on the other side!

I don't know how she knew I was about to make/buy a tote to to hold my crochet projects

And finally, I got:

A cute spiral notebook!  Again, she must be psychic because I needed a notebook to keep track of the crafts I want to do!  I've been filling my purse with post-it notes for the last week.

=] Thanks so much gleep!  I'm so glad you were my first swap partner.  I have a warm fuzzy feeling inside now.

I got home from work today to find a package on the dining room table!  That was fast - coast to coast in two days!

Here is the loveliness that mamaAnn sent me:

black and silver baby yarn - I'll have to knit something for one or both of my babies out of this stuff!

gorgeous purple crocheted shopping/project bag (a bit of my preggo belly snuck into that shot):

cute little purse with clear pockets on both sides, that she embroidered little felt patches for - side 1:

side 2 - apparently the fact that one cherry is embroidered and one is rhinestones is a mistake - but I wouldn't have known that unless she wrote it in her note to me:

veg magazines, scrapbooking magazine, craft project book, infant layette pattern, and project sheets:

and her fabric "score" - and BIG score is right - two yards of iridescent silk dupioni!!!  On top of it are a skull patch, white piping, a purple bracelet and earring set, and a sequin Halloween mask:

I almost forgot to take a picture of the knitting needle, so I took a pic of it with the bracelet/earring set out of the package:

Thank you, mamaAnn, everything suits me perfectly!  Wow - you are some bargain shopper.  I can't wait for you to get your package now!

Fabric for purse and extra remnants as well

Other fabric, textured papers, stickers, etc.

Appliques, beads, awesome flower stickers

And my AWESOME Purse!  The embroidery on it is lovely!  I may be wrong, but it looks as if Miss*Laurence painted the scene of Provence and the Lavender fields on some cream fabric, then embroidered it with both machine and hand embroidery.

Overall close-up of embroidery

Close-up of the Lavender, she also used some sheer fabric under the laveder embroidery, then clipped it close.  You can just see some of the shimmery fabric...awesome!

Close-up of the tree embroidery

I just love this bag and aspire to learn how to do this.  If you like textile art, I suggest you check out Miss*Laurence's website.  She does lovely work...

Thank You!!

Hurray! Hurray! I got home from camping yesterday to find two packages waiting at my door! (I would have posted the goodness last night but we're getting over food poisoning and trying to squeeze every last minute out of our remaining vacation time.) On to my crazy fab swap package ...

First of all a lovely reversible bag ... I love it, such pretty colours!

Next a trio of zombies! I heart zombies. There is a wee pouch, a mirror holder (with mirror inside) and a pin cushion zombie with its innards falling out.

Being the swell stalker that she is edud hit the nail on the head with some thoughtfully gathered herbs

A kite kit, which as you can see is already being used, and which prooved to be a mailing mess for poor edud. My kiddo quickly laid claim to this when the package was opened

If that wasn't enough, she also send some lovely well loved paperbacks (I love used books) a vintage bra pattern, and some kitchy craft gear

Being the lucky gal that I am I also got a ton of stuff to add to my stash! Wheee! I love bits and bobs

Last, but certainly not least, a wisp! It is absolutely gorge. I'd say that this is my most favourite bit but my mind keeps flipping from one thing to another!

I loves all my gear dearly and I think edud was not only a great stalker but that she was really imaginative with the things she chose. Thanks edud!!!!!!!!!

I received an AMAZING package from dragonflyducky.  She is a crafting goddess (and a bargain hunter goddess as well)! I am floored by this package and absolutely love it all.  Big pictures to show off her amazing skills:

The whole thing: 1. A tote bag with a slug applique - slugs are like our state mascot. It's made from a very sturdy fabric, this will be perfect for shopping or hauling whatever.
2. A bag made from a felted sweater - isn't the argyle pattern fabulous?  And the colors are totally me. It's lined with a heavy material and has a magnetic closure!
3. An adorable stuffie, he's about 10" tall, made from felted sweaters it looks like.  The bottom has rocks in it so it can stand up! I love this guy, he has so much personality and I need to name him.
4. A knitted silver wire bracelet with blue pearl-like beads. gorgeous.
5. Last but definitely not least, hand dyed yarn in a cotton/silk blend.  Over 400 yds for the big ball, over 300 yrds for the medium ball, and an undyed ball for me to have fun with.
I am so spoiled!  OK, here's the closeups:

Okay, so I did in fact receive a little while ago, but haven't had the time to upload pictures!  Leeska sent me a great swap package...I can't even believe she made so much stuff:

There are seriously (no really, I'm not exaggerating) TWENTY pairs of earrings:

She also gave me three necklaces that I can wear looped or single strand, and they match all of the earrings too!

She also included leftover stuff to make more earrings with (something I definitely want to learn how to do), several skeins of yarn, and a little jewelry instruction set from the internet.

Let's see a few more of those great earrings up close, shall we?

Thank you so much, Leeska!  I've already worn some of it to work, and have gotten lots of compliments.

I received from Hammycakes. I was hoping for a earring holder or a postcard album and I got both! Grin

First an earring holder. This had made me very, very happy Cheesy My husband thought I was hilarious because I was all excited at the prospect of arranging my earrings in colour blocks Tongue I had a fun Saturday night doing this and then putting postcards in my album Tongue

There is a mermaid detail on the frame because I like mermaids and the frame is bluer than in the picture.

I also got an album for my postcard collection with a matching journal.

And - a very cool teas towel - to show my love of cats. It goes well in my funky red , black and cream kitchen.

And some crafty bits and pieces. I have a bag one of the appilques will look great on.

If you have better pics of the earring stand please post them, hammycakes. I couldn't find decent batteries for the camera and the pics are a little dark.
