Picture time!!

Magenta arrived home today with a huge box of goodies and memories!!

My cool new Louisiana Parks Hat (Even though I look goofy in hats...)

Lots and lots of postcards from Louisiana AND Texas (Magenta got to go to both!!!)

All sorts of goodies from the Louisiana Stata Parks!!  A hat, a pencil, cool brochures, a cup, and even a temporary tattoo!

JaneAustin made Magenta a new scarf to wear here during the chilly winter (though she is a bit warm wearing it now in the hot summers!!) And also she came home with some Mardi Gras beads from all that partying down on Burbon Street!

Looks like she made some new friends at one of the parks and decided to bring them home with her.

She also brought home all sorts of yummy foods for me to try!  There's some spicy seasoning, tobasco sauce, kettle chips, and saltwater taffy!  Yum!!

A travelers guide...In case I ever actually get to go there...

A CD full with tons and tons of pictures, and a glowstick from the parks that I somehow left out of the picture above...

A Troll pillowcase for me!!  I love it!!

And last but not least....the picture book! It was sooooo much fun looking through it and seeing Magentas adventures!!

Thank you Janeaustin for being such an awesome partner!!!!

Hello.

Well, Leila arrived during the Craftster drought, but happily it is raining ribbons and fabrics and threads again and I can show you all what she brought home!

Here comes the picture show.

Out of the box and ready to rock.  I looove her new sweater!  So cute!  It suits her very well.

And (cover the children's eyes) here she is in her new skivvies!

Showing her English pride:

And now the scrapbook...

Her first day:

My favorite page, learning the English ways...

Now with clever vellum overlay!

And this page totally cracked me up!  Here is Leila, being snubbed by the English gentry.

At the chilly sea with her marvelous hostess, 2711:

Meeting the British Scooby Doo:

Where's Leila?

The Belle of Bristol:

Leila had a great time.  Thanks, 2711!

I hope Claudette gets home soon.  She should be there any minute, cuz I sent a day or two before Leila went in the mail.  Everybody cross your fingers she gets home safely.

Guess who's home!!!!  CYPRESS!
WOW---what a package he arrived in!
Cypress burst out of his box in all his beach-bum glory!  He is sporting brand new dolphin board shorts, flip flops and a handmade hemp necklace complete with beads!
There are so many fantastic souvenirs!  I don't know where to start!  WOW!

Inside is the most incredible "Parrots of the Carribean" Scrapbook with some AMAZING photos inside!  My favorites were Cypress hanging by one leg over a pit of hungry alligators & kissing the dolphin.
Also included is a full CD of all Cypress' photos & adventures.
Ok, so now I am going to make everyone jealous with the photos:

This fantastic Pirate craft bag filled with an activity pad, stickers, a matching hemp necklace for me, a Key Lime Candy cane and a deck of pirate cards!

Extra photos and post cards from various locations

The coolest handmade marine life.........so wonderfully crafted!

A dolphin plushie!

Brochures from all over!  And expanding sponge pills!
(Something I  have always wanted but have never had..........I'm so excited to try these out!)

Now, is this just the coolest outfit ever!? Smiley  Aeron made Cypess this rockin' Pirate outfit for Cypress complete with eye patch, pirate hat, gold coins and vest with a Parrot attatched!!!!!!!
SOOOO cool!

Aeron, you were the best swap partner ever!  THANK YOU SO MUCH For everything!  I can't wait to explore everything further!  The postman JUST dropped off the package and I literally tore into it!  So now I can go back and check everything out.

Are you ready to see some pics??? I know you are! Grin  To save bandwidth, I won't post them all, just my faves.

Here we go!

Corben arrived home with a cute new scarf! He likes it so much, he hasn't taken it off, even though it's 81 degrees today! Grin

Scrapbook cover. The keychain in the corner says "Bad Boy."  Cheesy

Corben arrived safely. Says "When Corben arrived he got right into the 'spirit' of New Orleans!" LOL

He went camping! Says "When we went camping at Lake Fausse Pointe State Park, Corben jumped right in and helped set up the tent!"

I LOVE the lobster pencil! Cool addition! Says "Lions and Tigers and Alligators??? Oh my!"

Corben played a game of pool! Says "Corben turned out to be quite the pool shark!" And the thought bubble says "Sure!... I'm ready for the PROs!" Tongue

Corben on Bourbon Street! Actually, that's where we met. Awww...
Says "Bourbon Street was named in honor of the House of Bourbon, the ruling French Royal Family, at the time of the city's founding.

The end! Says "Corben may still be nursing a hangover when he gets home." Roll Eyes  Grin
The bubbles say "I'm not tired... I just look this way!" and "UH! OH! I'm gonna be SICK!!!"

If you want to see more pics, click here! They're out of order, but numbered. Wink

Thank you so much, redheadskydiver! This is by far one of the coolest things I've ever received in a swap!!!  Kiss Kiss Kiss

Time for photos!!

Here's everything! I know, it's a HUGE amount! There's Lenny with his little face piercing  Cheesy

Here's a closeup of the two smaller scrapbooks- are these the two your kids did, Dragonslair? They're SUPER cute! I love them! Also there's some confederate money (my fiance stole this right away, he collects money related stuff) and the confederate flags.

Here's the little passport carrier (I think) and Lenny's journal and clipboard (so tiny and cute!) and a pretty crochet bookmark! There's also a cute little star stamp and a gorgeous button.

See? I adore this button, seriously. I'm thinking of making it into a choker somehow.

Here's one of the boxes stuff came in, with some seashells (yay!) postcards and a little ferry charm! There was also some plastic eggs from her kids, my cat Simon decided they were toys and now I can't find them  Roll Eyes

Here's my favorite thing- a little meditation/alter box for Lenny. It has incense, candles, smooth stones, and a beautiful picture.

Here's the man of the hour  Cheesy and his GIANT scrapbook! This thing must be like 4 inches thick!

My other favorite item... a jar of sea sand. I love the ocean but I've lived smack in the middle of the country my whole life.

Thanks so much Dragonslair  Cheesy this swap was so much fun!

Here he is at the Mexican border.

Lucy has returned from Colorado! Ptarmic wumpus spoiled me for sure Smiley

On to the pictures!

First up: Lucy and friends! Mr. Peapod and a cute buffalo (mascot of CU)
Lucy was nice enough to model her new scarf even though its 85 degrees here!

I had seen her other wetfelted landscapes and drooled over them. Now I have one of my own!! Now to find the perfect place to put it...

Lots of nifty stuff from NOAA. The globe thing looks reeeally neat. I'm going to have to put that together after work today. Also, I don't know why but I really like the keychain that has the compass and thermometer on it. Hehe, right after taking pictures, I put it on my keyring Smiley

Prarie preservation alliance T-shirt (which I will be wearing tomorrow, hehe). The awesomest scrapbook ever! Its black with a gold cover. The covers are thick and heavy. It is just too cool. I need to display it somewhere. Some cute cookie cutters and some tea. There was also a teabag strainer but I tried it out this morning with my tea!

The most beautiful postcard, sticker and stamp from the Tibetan store. I loooove the colors on these.

And lastly one of my favorite pictures she sent.
A rubber ducky race!!

Thank you so much ptarmic wumpus!!!

From top, Red beaded necklace (stunning!), Keyring (fun!!), Orange beaded bracelet (Gorgeous and fits me beautifully!), Keyring Zipper purse, mini basketball, Mix CD (I am really enjoying this...so much new and brilliant music) and Suki in the Huskies Shotglass!!!

An incredible amount of gorgeous, beautiful postcards from all the places Suki visited. Plus a windowsticker from the Conneticut Huskies!!!

last night jelly decided to hang out on the bookshelf with some other stuffies:

but i told him he should probably take a nap so that he'll be well-rested when he meets his host Wink

then this morning, i sent him on his way to catsjewelry!  Smiley

when i got home this afternoon i found eugene, the most fabulous viking narwhal i have ever seen!  Cheesy  i took him outside to enjoy the last few hours of sunshine, especially since it's supposed to rain tomorrow.  marylou checked out his horn (tusk?) that broke in transit and proclaimed, "it can be fixed!"

now that his "surgery" has been completed, he's recuperating in the basket i keep by the door with his own stuffie to keep him company, so that he'll be ready to tag along with me later this evening!  Grin

sorry for the picture explosion -- i'm a tad bit excited  Cheesy

Well, Gina accompanied me to work today, it was a busy day so I put her in charge of answering the phone.

Before we knew it, it was already lunch time!

After lunch things started to slow down and we browsed craftser on company time, HAHA!

Gina pulled out her very first crochet project to show me, I was definitely jealous...I forgot my most recent knitting WIP at home Sad

A few more hours dragged on and we packed up our stuff and headed home Smiley

(Photos aren't as wonky as they seem...craftster resizes things and makes them look like crap. Sad)

Lyle arrived today from his trip to visit Tygir in Virginia!  Here are some photos showing off his trip and the goodies he brought back:

Here Lyle is showing off his scrapbook and cd of photos

Here's all the loot he found in Virginia!

There are some magnets, a shotglass, vintage buttons, a bitty bottle of dirt from the GW forest, a piggy bank, a box decorated with easter egg shells that Lyle helped to dye, a crocheted catnip banana for my kitties, and a new friend!

Lyle made a new friend, who I decided to name Olga!

Kahlua is definately enjoying the banana  Cheesy

And here is a pic from the scrapbook of Lyle visiting the arboretum!

Thanks for being a great host to Lyle and for all the goodies, Tygir!
