All finished!

I'm pleased with how neat I was able to keep the back.  I managed to weave in all the ends so there would  be no knots:

The flickr photoset isn't all that interesting   Undecided.. I just wanted to be thorough!

And here's my contribution!

And a shot of stops 1 & 2.

I took the sushi patterns as my freebie but after much deliberating I decided on the veggies since they are one of my favorite patterns. I just love that happy dancing apple!

All of my comments are in the package but I have to say the towel was really nice to embroider on, nice even seams and a good thickness.  When you fold the towel between the two embroidered items the other piece doesn't come on through like on thinner fabric.

I'll be stopping by the post office after work so the next person should get it soon!

Ok so I am done.  My hubby loved the idea of this.  he thought everyone did a great joband loved the rocket.

The towel was great to stitch on, the weave was just right!  I liked how finished the towel was.  I hope it comes in different colors too...

#5 it will be in the post tomorrow..

I made a little home for the towel too! Smiley

And now, the moment you've all been waiting for...

The towel is on it's way to lucky stitcher #7.  I sent it out this afternoon.  I can't believe I finished my stitching in less than one day.  I started it yesterday afternoon and finished up before I went to bed.  Granted, that was at midnight.   Shocked

This was so exciting and totally fun!

I have finished my part of the towel.  I will be shipping it out tomorrow to kittykill.

Here are the pictures

Full towel

I really liked the thickness of the towel and brightness of the white.  I thought it absorbed very well.   I can not wait to see what other people do.

I have a flickr photoset for my progress.  http://www.flickr.com/photos/iamsusie/sets/72157594586499255/

Here's a glimpse:

It's just out of the dryer.  This pic exaggerates the wrinkling a bit.  I also tested absorbancy and it wicked up the clean water spill nicely.

Now I'm going to transfer a pattern and get stitching.  My goal is to send along by the end of the week!

I'm pretty far into the stitching now.  I might have gotten farther last night, but our home lighting is very yellow at night and I couldn't differentiate the red and orange tones of my floss stash.

It's fun to be first, but I won't get to see everyone's work up close  Undecided

Let me tell you.. I'm trying to be super-duper neat with my stitching on this one!  I can't decide if the thicker weave helps or gets in the way of my preferred stitch length.

Here's the pattern I picked:

And a progress pic:

I picked a bright color palette, probably becasue it was so lovely and sunny here yesterday.

I've gotta volunteer now at the school library, but I'm making super fast progress!  I think I'll be mailing tomorrow...

OK, I'm all done.

I decided to do something that wasn't from a pattern so that I could see how easily it would be to trace through the towel. I thought I would need my light box but I didn't, it was very easy to see a drawing done with a thin sharpie. I tried a big chunky chain stitch, french knots and small stem stitches and it stitched like a dream. It stayed nice and tight in the hoop and gave the needle something to bite into. I had to add some rick-rack because, well.... I have a rick-rack addiction and it wasn't even an option. I love the towel and will love it even better if it has a nice price tag.
You will notice that the word from is a darker shade of red. Good lighting is very important kids! I realized this morning that it was the wrong thread and I decided to just leave it rather than hold up the tour by ripping and re-stitching.

I received the towel today.  I was so excited...The stitching looks great on Craftster but in person it looks fantabulous...The back looks super neat, I am going to have to try really hard to be neat..

The towel is nice and thick. I can't wait to stitch on it.  It is the nicest towel I have seen.  I wonder how much it will be??

I am going to try and get it done tonight because I have a swap (kittykill) I need to finish the rest of this week and the hubby is working late and I want to make sure to keep to the time constraints.

I took the Craftopia patterns..

This is what the towel looks like now..

I will post more later.

Hello ladies!  Let's all come down now, the moment has come.  I just got it in the mail yesterday.  Ready to see the towel up to now?  I haven't done my part yet, but I will do it tommorrow.  I will post a final picture before it makes it's way home as well.

Without further ado:

If anyone would like to get up close and personal with one of the images let me know, I took pics of all of them.

So far, I am just amazed with the look, feel, and weave of the towel.

Jenny or Mary, are these the towels that you are currently selling on the website?
