I received from Groschveux (not sure when, exactly, because the mail arrives irratically around here sometimes) and I think I'm the luckiest girl ever!!!!

She made this cute, cute bag with neat magnetic closures:

A matching quilted sunglasses case  Shocked:

And a skirt I am absolutely in LOVE with! It hits right at my knees which is really hard to find in a skirt, but my favorite length.
Front:

Back:

And some gorgeous notions - rickrack, lace, and beautiful grosgrain ribbon:

Everything is wonderful and just perfect for me. I am in awe of you and your crafting skills. Thank you so much, Groschveux!!

Okay! This post is going to have a lot of pictures. They're all different sizes because I'm too lazy to edit them properly Tongue

First, there's this cat tote bag. It's awesome for many reasons: It's roomy, it's got a cat FELTED ONTO IT, it has a cool lining, and it's made from a thrifted sweater!

Then we have this apron, which I requested, but I asked for the subject matter to be a surprise. The awesome thing is that it is big enough to fit my fat behind. Smiley It is made from a thrifted bedsheet! Here I am posing with my apron immediately after opening my swap package. I grabbed the two closest things to me that said "kitchen" and struck a pose:

Here's a close-up of the veggies:

In the pocket of the apron was this felted hot pad. It is too cool (felted fire?! sweet!) and I'm going to probably sew a loop on it so I can hang it up in the kitchen and take it down only for special occassions Smiley

... there's more! ptarmic wumpus FELTED ME A SKULL BOWL. I kid you not. Here he is, basking in the glory of his awesomeness, and another shot of him chillin' with my other skull. He is going to be our halloween candy dish, for sure.

And last, but not least, she sent me fruits and veggies kitty toys! In the pics you can see Carrot v.2, the eggplant being fondled by our black kitty, and the obligatory cat-in-the-box-your-stuff-came-in shot. ptarmic wumpus also made a lime, but I didn't get a shot of it right away and it has now gone missing (has catnip, will travel).

Squee! Even with (or perhaps because of?) the odd mail-truck time trials that were spontaneously held on my street today, I received my wondifferous package from SewPixie today!  Everything was so nicely wrapped up and with a lovely note as well - here's a nice group shot after opening :

and individually, here's the wonderful geisha bag - I can just hear things in my room begging to be kept in this Wink

Front and back of the beautiful pincushion - great timing, since mom and I have been fighting over our one pincushion while we sew Wink

(pay no attention to the healing skin allergies....)

The awesome dpn needle roll!  I've already started sorting my double-points into their new home Cheesy

And some lovely stitch markers to keep my needles company:

And last but certainly not least, this incredible bag, with plenty of room for sketchbooks or RPG books!
I didn't even realize it had an inner pocket until I picked it up and found gum! (and thanks for that, too, by the way - not only is it tasty for me, but you just bought me an hour or so of respite from my friend's daughter's constant whine of 'want gum! want gum!' while I'm babysitting her on Wednesday  Grin )

Everyone here is completely blown away by your sewing skills - my mom and fiance have both been eyeing up the geisha pouch all evening Wink.  Thankyouthankyouthankyou! You've been a great swap partner, and thank you too, catpants, for setting me up with such an amazing partner for my first swap.

- toys for my kitties

Here's what Moonoverbrooklyn sent to me. You all are not going to believe that this is her first swap! It arrived yesterday and I am STILL in awe.

First, a gorgeous silver necklace with a city skyline. Moonoverbrooklyn, I'm dying to know how you made this!

Blurry action shot of same. The length is perfect.

Clay Food! A piece of chocolate cake, s'mores ingredients, and what I am pretty sure is an ice cream sandwich. And a darn cute one at that. In the foreground is a yarn needle, for size reference.

Two lovely pen-and-ink drawings of celtic knots, framed. Craftster won't let me upload these at a very high resolution, so you'll just have to trust me that the stipple shading is very impressive.

Last, but certainly not least, she batiked six fabric panels for me! They're each about 8x8 (but catpants, don't get any ideas!)

The one in the lower right hand corner of the first picture says "I [heart] " and has a picture of a gnome. Does she have my number or what?

Thanks very much for everything, Moonoverbrooklyn! I've had a blast swapping with you and continue to be incredibly impressed with all of my loot. Cheesy

Lovecraft themed t-shirt. The colors are gorgeous! I love the coppery color. I am very much in awe of Inara stenciling skills. I am a beginner. Doncha love the 'i have been sitting on the poarch all night and had meetings all day' look on my face.  Cheesy

Hahaha. And a sleeping mask...a Tom Nook (from Animal Crossing) sleeping mask. Comfy and it looks hysterical. Love it.

Catpants!  I think I love you!

My amazing swap partner (and organizer I might add) sent me some awesome goodness!  I love it all!

I got:
a great fix for my love of all things purple.  A knitted purple headband (which I'm wearing now and I love), a beautiful purple pincushion with star pins, and a gorgeous necklace that fits me perfectly!

Next up, an amazing felted bag from a thrifted sweater with a really cute felted pin attached.  I'm using this tomorrow.

That's not all.  A Swap Journal!  Now I can keep my journal from my very first swap!!!!!  I so wanted one of these and I just love the colors.

and last, but certainly not least, a purple knitted cat toy filled with catnip that Micah promptly grabbed and claimed for his very own.

Tracy, you outdid yourself and I love it all.  Thank you for making my first swap so much FUN!  And you're right.  I am addicted already!

Here's pics of what I sent to Moonoverbrooklyn.

Some mary jane crocheted slippers, which unfortunately didn't turn out *quite* big enough! (but her sister is reaping the benefits)

The buttons are hot pink and are vintage. I got 'em from Taloola in another swap. Smiley

Sushi potholders! These are a specialty of mine.

A headband with cute froggies on, since Moonoverbrooklyn is a big animal person:

And lastly, a lined zippered pouch with ric-rac handle and sock monkeys on!

I'm glad you liked everything, Moonoverbrooklyn!

The rest of you, wait till you see what she sent me! Coming up...

Your welcome suzeeannie!
Here's a few pictures of the stuff I made for her.

Made these three "fabric-lace-rickrack-paint" on canvas type things. I was inspired by the this crow stencil made by knottydottie.

Fabric cuff

I also made her a blank notecard (black, red and white color theme) with fabric sewn on it and gave her a pack of red rickrack.

Hope I get mine soon.  Smiley

Cotneyroo wrote me yesterday that she had received my package. (YEAH!!:-)
She asked me to post pictures of what I made. I hope she liked it all- the poncho was the bane of my existence for a while there trying to get it done in time!  Grin roflmao
**edited to add....**
Oh yeah, She wrote in her note to me that the clapotis was temporarily the bane of her existence, so isn't it amazing how things even out in the end? hee hee

I made her this poncho with 10 skeins of super duper soft Jaeger wool Grin
(Sorry the lighting isn't the best)

Close up detail (it's a thick & thin type yarn):

Here are 3 greeting cards I made her:

And last but not least 4 shrinky dink beaded stitch markers: The last one you cant read to well in the pic, it says "I knit therefore I am" with pictures of scarves on it. :-) ( PS I really AM a Yarn Ho!, hee hee)

Hugs
